It was widely reproted in the media that Brady was behind schedule. Felger yapped on this for a long time after Brady had the infection issues, then Curran reported the same thing.
Charlie Casserly reports much about the Pats but is wrong way more often than he is right.
I just don't see...
Are these the same guys that told us Cassel would be cut? That Favre would bring the Jets to the Superbowl? That pronounced the Patriots season over when Brady went down?
Listen to the TV announcers all you want, but yeah, they pull this stuff out of their collective butts.
He was given the choice of coming to off-season conditining program and getting $8.5 million dollars or getting cut, and he chose getting cut.
Me, I would have lifted the weights, but hey! What's $8.5 million anyway?
Re: Are the New England Patriots Ready To Deal Laurence Maroney?
Not a stat guy myself, and stats can be misleading (Faulk's is high because he only runs in passing situations when the MLBs are out of position to defend the run, and Evans was low because he usually only carried the ball in short...
Re: Are the New England Patriots Ready To Deal Laurence Maroney?
Maybe we can trade him and a fifth round pick to the Raiders for Doug Gabriel and the rights to Jeff Garcia.
Maroney has been productive, certainly way more than BJGE.
The problem with Maroney bashers is that they have two standards. The standard for MAroney is higher because he is a first round pick and BJGE was undrafted.
That is reasonable for EXPECTATIONS,but not for making a decision which...
Don't be melodramatic. We have LBs to start and backup now. A rookie would not be depended on, but would be used according to his ability and need.
A rookie could either start from day one, like Mayo did last year,
fill in early on and play significant minutes, like Guyton did last year,
be...
Re: Gil Santos retiring
Me, too. I remember him doing our football games for New Bedford High, but my favorite was him and Cousy doing the Celtics. Those two were awesome together.
I do. He is comparing the rigors of a DB returning to football condition to a QB, and uses running down RBs as an example of not being ready. QBs don't need to be in the same physical condition as DLs.
It's like high ankle sprains. Brady had one and didn't miss a start and was fine. A RB, WR...
Local vendors are still operating in America, brother. Not as many as before because of people who go to the Natick Mall for lunch instead of a locally owned spot, but they are there.
No only that, but it is hard to find a bad locally owned joint. Only those with good food and good service...
Agree 100%.
I was glad he was drafted, and still think all he needs is to stop looking for a home run every carry and just take what is available.
Every off-season some players learn things and do better. No reason why Maroney cannot do the same.
Here's hoping.
There is truth to his statement that the 1988-1990 Patriots did not have good attendence.
The issue people are taking in this thread is that saying that there was poor attendance in 1990 and sellouts from 1994 to the present means that New England fans are bandwagon fans compared to the rest...
