Patriots WR Dobson Appears Unlikely For Showdown With Colts

Now that the postseason is here the Patriots are going to need every last offensive threat they can muster, but it appears they'll be without at least one of their key players tomorrow night against Indianapolis.

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, wide receiver Aaron Dobson will likely miss Saturday's AFC Divisional playoff game against the Colts after missing yesterday's final practice session, marking two straight weeks of workouts that he's sat out.

The rookie receiver has been spotted wearing a walking boot this week after seemingly re-aggravating a reported foot injury in the season finale against the Bills.  The loss is somewhat significant because at 6'3", Dobson is New England's biggest receiver, while the rest of their wideouts are 6'0" or less.  That's given the Patriots a height advantage at that position they haven't had in quite a while, and apparently may not have to help them get past the Divisional round.

He's been a key player for them in quite a few situations, including third down where he's caught, and converted, 7 passes for 105 yards this season including a touchdown.  The fact he hasn't been placed on injured reserve yet leads you to believe he'll be able to go at some point, and hopefully New England can make it far enough to give him that opportunity.
