In the last couple of days, the New England Patriots made a couple of transactions to their practice squad. In light of this, I figured I would catch up with the current group.
The Patriots re-signed safety Ross Ventrone to their practice squad Tuesday, after cutting him from the 53-man roster last week. In Ventrone's spot, the team promoted offensive tackle Thomas Welch. Welch was used primarily as a blocking tight end Sunday, as well as a reserve lineman.
On Wednesday, the team announced defensive back Josh Victorian had been released, and defensive back Sterling Moore was signed.
Victorian was one of the five players selected by the Patriots coaching staff for practice players of the week. The five players are selected for best preparing the team in the previous week. The other four players were Matt Kopa, Kyle Love, Antwuan Molden & Shane Vereen. Below is the total list of eight players currently on the team's practice squad.
