Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been selected as The Sporting News's Coach of the Year.

A Good Call
NFL director of officiating Mike Pereira said during his weekly segment on the NFL Network Monday that defensive back Eugene Wilson won't be disciplined for his hit on Colts receiver Reggie Wayne on Sunday. Pereira said that Wilson led with his shoulder, not his head, making it a legal hit. Wilson also left his feet on the play, but "launching" is not a penalty in and of itself.
Brady In Washington
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was present in Washington on Tuesday night for President Bush's State of the Union speech. Brady was #24 on the guest list with a seat in first lady Laura Bush's box, and was panned to on ABC's coverage of the speech as Bush called to Sports owners and Player Union leaders to help stop the use of performance enhancement drugs in professional sports. Bush's request was made in hopes of setting a better example for younger athletes.
