I grew up near Cincinnati and was a Bengals fan in the 70s and 80s. I was not a diehard football fan in general at the time, since I was more into basketball then, but I liked them.
When I moved to New England in the 90s, the Bengals were so bad for so long that they were never televised and never even reported on on newspapers or TV, even ESPN. This was before direct TV, before Sunday Ticket, before internet sports message boards, etc.
In those days following a bad out-of-market team was more-or-less impossible.
With lack of any real ability to follow them, I drifted away. Finally I started paying attention to the Patriots in the Parcells era and became more and more attached.
When it has no negative impact on the Patriots I still like to see the Bengals do well, but there is no conflict at all. I am a Patriots fan 100%, with just a secondary level of "I hope they do OK" support for the Bengals.

She's white-knuckling that chair pretty good. For balance I guess?
Anyway, my family is split Pats-Giants, but I can tell you there is no way in hell I'm I Giants fan.
Also, why are people hating on the OP? I must have missed something.

------------------ “On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

I said damn! And the answer is ADD. People hate long threads because they hate reading and then draw a conclusion based on reading a small snipped. And then proceed to display their dislike of them by responding with smart-ass remarks, which in turn, all it does is bumps it up.

She realized her mistake, but I thought the idea was when you don't pay attention to detail, meaning...them. If you think I talk too much, you should have met her. Where do you think I got my training?

Well, to answer the OPs question, I like the Seahawks as my NFC team. And to answer the question of who I would root for when the two teams play, I would just root for a competitive game that came down to the wire.
