I picked this up on another board but I can't verify it.

Emtman has to be in his forties by now so I would assume it was a joke by a fan of an opposing team, in reference to the Patriots' signing of veteran players such as Shaun Ellis, Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth.

P.S. - It would be most helpful if you could post a link to comments such as the one above so we could take a look at the original statement in it's entirety; it's difficult to form an opinion without that.

Emtman retired 14 years ago.

I think it was intended to be funny or something. Hard to tell.

That’s what we always do, and I think the last nine years we’ve put a pretty competitive team out there on the field every year. I think that’s how you do it – you get good football players. Sometimes they are not always at the No. 1 position, but I don’t think you pass up good football players to get the guys who aren’t as good just because they’re at a position that somebody feels you need.”

Dunno how this ISN'T a five star thread.

I wonder if Lawrence Taylor is available...

LOL! I heard we're also bringing in Bruce Smith as a situational rusher!

If the guy has been retired for 14 years, it shouldn't be that hard to tell
