I won't name names, but there's no question that some people have been using the "glass half full, and then some!" approach to dealing with what happened this past season. It's been like reading Colts forums, which is the point the O.P. is trying to get at.
Thank you

I don't enjoy my team's accomplishments any more or less because of what a rival did. Have the Patriots been Colt like in their last two one and done playoff losses? Sure, but whatever. I loved watching Brady & the team in 2007 and 2010. Even though they ultimately came up disappointing in the playoffs, sometimes theres more than just the Superbowl.
I would throw a little praise Brady's way if he didn't throw one of the most foolish passes of his career that changed their championship run forever.
Brady had a bad game, but so did the rest of the team. Not happy the Pats lost, but I am over it now. I am optimistic about the future of the team if there is football next year.

Not for this franchise.

Am no Colts fan, nor am I happy with the way the season ended, but I have recently started to get over the loss. I want the best of both worlds: Regular season accolades/awards punctuated with a Super Bowl run/championship in the post-season. Call me greedy if you insist.

And on the flipside, there are plenty of people who believe the glass is shattered on the ground. And there was even a group who were silenced all season who couldn't wait until the Pats lost to the Jets to tell us how O'Brien sucks or this defense is awful or whatever. It goes both ways.
Last year regular season-wise far exceeded my expectations and was fun. The post season, not so much.
The fact of the matter is all you can hope for year in and year out is your team being a legitimate contender. This was supposed to be a bit of rebuilding year and it turned out to more than that. A few more pieces and this team could be a truly elite team next year. That is something to be excited about rather than biatching about the past season.

You may be right, but I've seen absolutely none of this. I've not even one poster who seemed to do this, although I admit that I've not exactly tallied results on it or anything. The same people who questioned early, questioned late and were bashed for it. Now, there are those who's moods swing in the breeze, but they don't really fall into either the group I'm talking about or the group you're talking about.

We can now safely say that it's a pattern. This team needs to become more than just Brady v. the world.

I don't agree with this at all, and neither should anyone who still remembered the first half of the 2000s for what it was. The Patriots weren't just "a legitimate contender". They were the team nobody wanted to play, and were one of, if not THE, team to beat, and for damned good reason. This new group has lost that, partly because BB has made some bad decisions and moves, and partly because of natural attrition. Criticizing people for "biatching" is ridiculous, given how the past 2 seasons have unfolded.

unfortunately, the harsh reality of the situation that 32 teams go into the season with Super Bowl aspirations with about a dozen or so with a legitimate shot, but only one reaches that aspiration. In the history of the NFL only a very small handful of teams have won more championships than the Pats have in the timeframe of the Belichick/Brady era. Only the Steelers in the 70s, 49ers in the 80s, Bears in the 40s, and Packers in the 60s have won more championships in a ten year period than the Pats. And the Bears won them when the league was really small and it was either an one or two game playoff series. Green Bay won most of their championships in the 60s before the merger.
I don't agree with this comparison at all. While the Pats' early exits the past few years have sucked and the regular season accolades given to Brady are hollow compared to winning the Super Bowl. The awards are justly deserved and there is no reason whatsoever why fans shouldn't be able to enjoy them and be happy for Brady. Besides, the Pats and Colts are heading in opposite directions regarding which teams appear to be getting better and ready to make another run at the Lombardi Trophy.

A team that beat every playoff contender in the AFC with an All time great Coach/QB were favorites to win and should of been.
