All this does is make me prouder to be a Patriots fan and , for the week at least... a Steeler fan.

Guys, between 07 and now this... everything that is the Pats havebeen dismantled,.... there is no playoff mystique, there is nothing left to make this team unique... Everyone wants to play for Rex...

The Pats have some crucial choke jobs, and the allure of the Pats is fading away, ala Colts and Manning.

Wrong.

Look, the Patriots played crappy ball even in their AFC CG win in 07, and they won.

The difference between now and then is about 100 combined years of experience on the defense.

That's it.

And even that defense relied on some luck (the Titans WR dropping a big ball at the end of the game while wide open, the Carolina Super Bowl).

The difference between now and then is the experience on D and maybe a WR.

That is IT!

The Pats wen't 14-2, and every player on the roster had a chance to win a SB ring. If you view the Patriots as a team in decline then I simply disagree.

This is a well coached team that has a great QB, in a QB driven league, with more draft picks than any other team coming up in a loaded draft.

Mystique left with Bruschi, and Aura wen't right out the door with Rodney and Vrabel. 2010 was simply a good young team that managed to win 14 games to most everyone's surprise. I'm with Belichick and Brady until they decide to hang it up.

So, in other words, every action of this group of recidivists, from the legal troubles of Holmes and Edwards to Cromartie's birth control issues and resorting to expletives to describe an NFL opponent — that's all now acceptable and honorable because the Jets won yesterday?
