that the biggest football game of the year will be overshadowed by a sport that is no longer america's past time... who cares of the fa signing.. this is football season not a stupid fa signing...lets talk some football save all the baseball calls till wed at least, this is a huge game...

The Red Sox just acquired one of the very best players in the game, of course there's going to be discussion about it. It's the equivalent of the Patriots trading for Larry Fitzgerald in week four of the 2011 season while the Sox are in a dogfight to make the playoffs. You think they wouldn't spend a fair amount of time on that?

I'm sure tomorrow they'll be much more Patriots driven.

It's big news. Granted in some cities it wouldn't get as much play but Boston isn't one of them (neither would New York if it were the Yankees.)

I'm sure there will be plenty of Pats coverage there today also. Anyone who doesn't get enough of their fix there can always look at thousands of other media and internet outlets.......not to mention right here!

EEI is just doing their job.

(Though it does say alot about how far baseball has fallen when one of the 1 or 2 best first basemen in the sport is someone most of us have never heard of or could pick out of profile picture lineup).

Well, the guy was a San Diego Padre, so I don't think it's surprising that people who don't follow the sport closely wouldn't know him.

EEI is also affiliated with the Sox, they couldnt just not talk about it. It is a pretty big deal too. Big Show will probably spend more time on the Pats with DeOssie and Smerlas on today

I guess i shouldnt complain, since the pats have come along way since 2000 to be even or in some cirlces more poplualr than the sox... Alot of it has to do with Mr Kraft, Belichick and Brady... But to where the pats were in 92 and on the verge of moving, i guess i could handle some bb talk on the biggest football game of theyear...

Sean exactly what about the Jets/Pats matchup has not been dissected/bissected/yissected/analyzed/smanalyzed and zanalyzed to death??
At this point it's "just play the freakin' game already".

PS- so psyched about the signing of Adrian Gonzalez. Awesome move!
It is OK to pay attention to more than one sport Sean.

I don't even follow the Red Sox that much and I've been searching around for some evaluation of the trade. I'd even listen to WEEI to hear their take on it today.
