I haven't clicked the link, but I guarantee it will never get old with Steeler fans.

We've had a couple of great Steeler fans visiting this week - hats off and thank you very much to them for their insight and conversation by the way - but if you don't believe me visit any Steeler fan site. There is a pretty good portion of their fans that are obsessed with disparaging the Pats and making excuses for any and all Steelers losses to the Pats.

I would expect that from fans of a team like the Jets considering how long it has been since they won a championship. But I find it really strange for fans of a team that has won two recent championships, to still be so focused on another team from another division that they lost to previous to those two championships.

I would understand it more if it was Colts fans (prior to their SB win), Chargers, Jaguars or Dolphin fans. To me the depth of the hatred by Steelers fans is strange - and the rationale is often bizarre, in my opinion.

Somehow, I'm guessing this article will be used as further 'proof' by some Steeler fans that the reason they lost those had nothing to do with inferior special teams - or that their opponent just happened to be better in those games.

Oh FFS, this crap will never die. And I am sure the Steelers of all teams are the cleanest bunch of chums in the history of organized sports right?

First of all, there was and is absolutely NO proof that we used anything for an unfair advantage in those games. Just like the fabled Rams walk through tape it never existed.

Second of all guess what, most great teams playing their best game are always seemingly one step ahead of the losing team. How can this article possibly use the belief that the Pats were a step ahead of the Steelers to prove they were cheating? The Giants were 3 steps ahead of the pats in 42 but do I think they cheated? Hell no. The Ravens were a step ahead of the Pats in last year's playoff debacle. Do I think they cheated? Hell no. Those teams clearly worked their asses off studying and examining every little weakness of our teams to exploit them. It's called being a good team. If a team didn't seemingly have a step ahead of the loser then there would be no losing team! We WERE steps ahead of the Steelers in those games because we were the better team and could counter all their strengths to our advantage.

And I love how they blame us for stealing their signals for the 01 AFC Championship game when we hadn't even played them that entire season. Where did we get the signals then?

Red meat for a generally dumb fan base.

I'd like to see a column on how the refs gave them the SB against the Seahawks and how they had a cake match up against Arizona in their second most recent SB.

Rather, the Pats had to play one of the greatest offenses in NFL history (the Rams), a damn scrappy Panthers team and a very good Eagles team in their SBs. And let's not forget a Giants team with maybe the best pass rushing front 7 in recent memory.

Obviously you don't pick who you play, but if I'm a Steeler fan I'm grateful my team drew those match ups/refs. Their rings those years should have been shaped like cupcakes.

And let's not forget a QB who likes to force himself on college girls. And didn't they lose a draft pick under Cowher for cheating on the cap?

No, that was the Broncos who won two rings while cheating on the cap so they could afford to retain the only QB Shannahan ever won anything with...

The Steelers merely won three of their five rings jacked on steroids. And that second to last one probably wasn't fixed, it just seemed like they had a twelfth man on the field all evening and was just coincidental that all the incompetent reffing decisions went their way...it clearly had no relationship to the league turning a blind eye to the Rooney family's persistent ties to gambling via their racetrack holdings in violation of league rules.

It may never die, but we could probably take less of an active role in keeping it alive by linking to it every time we see it.

From the article:

The subject is particularly sore for Steelers fans who believe their team was robbed of Super Bowl trips in 2001 and/or 2004. They believe the stealers beat their Steelers in AFC title games those seasons, though team officials have consistently maintained that the Patriots won fair and square.

They can say what they want, but in 2001, signals were not the reason they gave up a big punt return TD or allowed a blocked FG. And no team with Kordell Stewart at QB should feel they were robbed of a Super Bowl trip.

As for 2004, rookie QB, turned the ball over 4 times, fell behind 24-3 at half, signals had nothing to do with it. They were fortunate to survive the Jets game the week before, and got caught out as a pretender. Nothing to see here folks.

Please place this thread right next to the old Steeler POLLARD HIT celebration T shirts.

Steeler fans suck.

I stopped reading the article when it said that the Patriots had been brazenly cheating for Seven years starting in 2000. I like the idea that clowns like Joey Porter think that they were robbed, it eats at them
