Default Off-season....J.Witten for B.Watson+++

Sounds like more Cowboys than TO unhappy with Witten. Would they be willing to deal
him after the season. They do have a good prospect in M.Bennett. We could also give
them Watson and a 3. Would you do it. I would.

In my opinion, it would take much more than what you propose to make that deal. Also, it sounds as though he may be one of the few sane people left in the Cowboys' locker room. Why would they want to send him sailing?

Why not just cut Watson, get a veteran and draft one of the many good prospects at the tight-end position? My sleeper is Bear Pascoe from Fresno State.

Cut Watson?!?! Maybe he hasn't become the star everyone has expected him to be but he has really improved as a blocker this year and has become an all around solid player. The Pats offense is centered around the WR's, if it was a more run style offense with more play action and less shotgun Watson would have better receiving totals. You don't simply throw away quality NFL players, that's not a way to build a team. Not every player has to be a superstar, Watson is a solid contributor.

BTW, here are next year's FA's at TE, who would you like to sign??

Quote:
Pos Player Name FA Status Previous Team Current Team
TE Dominique Byrd RFA St. Louis Rams
TE Mark Campbell UFA New Orleans Saints
TE Desmond Clark UFA Chicago Bears
TE Jon Dekker RFA Pittsburgh Steelers
TE Darnell Dinkins UFA Cleveland Browns
TE Aaron Halterman UFA Miami Dolphins
TE Will Heller UFA Seattle Seahawks
TE Jeff King RFA Carolina Panthers
TE Jim Kleinsasser UFA Minnesota Vikings
TE Joe Kowalewski RFA New York Jets
TE Itula Mili UFA Seattle Seahawks
TE Ben Patrick ERFA Arizona Cardinals
TE Leonard Pope RFA Arizona Cardinals
TE Stephen Spach UFA Arizona Cardinals
TE Tony Stewart UFA Oakland Raiders
TE Quinn Sypniewski RFA Baltimore Ravens
TE Daniel Wilcox UFA Baltimore Ravens
I don't see anyone on this list better than Watson.

What's up with Dave Thomas? Is he not playing by coach's decision?
