What do you want him to do? Say that two of his friends killed somebody? He already did that in court. If my friends killed somebody and some blood ended up on my clothes, you better believe I am not saving those clothes for police inspection. All in all, I can't think of anything that Lewis did that I wouldn't do in the same situation. Again, his mistake was hanging with the wrong dudes. He paid for it. And now, 13 years later, all those that don't harbor an irrational hatred for the man have forgiven and forgotten.

Tell us exactly what he did that night. Not try to distort things. He testified. Well enough that he managed to get his friends off the hook while at the same time saving his own ass.

It wouldn't be as much of a problem if the media and fans hadn't spent the last decade kissing his ass because of the good he's done since. In your estimation then... if you were involved in the deaths of two men, disposed of evidence, testified in such a way that your friends got off after you got a plea deal and then spent the next decade using your vast wealth to do some good.... we should heap praise on you and forget that your inability to tell the truth has let two murders go unpunished?

That has got to be the dumbest thing I've read on this forum, by a mile.

MLK was black. he spoke his mind. Some thug, he was.

I think what you meant to write was:

man who leaves two people stabbed to death on the side of the street, lies to the police, tells others to lie to the police, hides crucial evidence and pays off relatives to shut up = thug.

Dumbass.

A little perspective on a team not named the Patriots from a fan that is not engulfed by the New England self love, and I'm removed from the conversation?

Fair enough. I thought the Steelers message board guys were kidding when they said you all were so touchy. I can't believe I actually now agree with a Steelers fan.

No need to ban me again..... I'll show myself out quietly and let you all get back to your sewing circle of self love.

Go Ravens!!!

That's not fair. Nobody ever said President Obama, Rev. King, President Mandela, AG Holder, Jackie Robinson, General Powell, Bishop Tutu, Arthur Ashe, etc, etc, etc were thugs. In fact, the greatest strides in civil rights have been made by people of all races who stood up for justice and equality.

Thug is not a racist term. It signifies anyone who bullies or uses force against weaker people. If we started a list of great thugs in history, it would be pretty multicultural and would spark some good debate about whose thugs were the worst.

Hell, you could have an all-time thug Olympics and I bet every country on earth could field a pretty decent team. If Genghis Khan got his hands on the Olympic torch, he would have burned down the Olympic Village just for fun.

Thuggery? #1 on my list is Bill Laimbeer who tried to take Larry Bird's head off every time he came in the lane, and who released a video game called Combat Basketball in the 90s that was stupid but fun: Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nice try. MLK's strategy was to make peace with whites, never to provoke them or do anything that made them uncomfortable. Malcolm X is the better comparision. Believe me, he was labelled a "thug" and far worse.

I think what you meant to write, other than omitting the personal attack at the end, was:

I have no idea what happened that night but because I harbor an irrational hatred towards Ray Lewis, I choose to believe that he acted in a "thuggish" way.

FYI Bill Russell was more than outspoken.
While many were POed by his opinions and many didn't like him, nobody ever called the man a thug.

This is known as "bad luck." RAH

I'm not sure if "thug" had entered the mainstream lexicon as a way of describing a young black man at that time, but you're supporting my point by noting that many did not like Russell for no other reason than that he was an outspoken black man.
