Default Titans WR Kenny Britt likely to avoid suspension for Week One vs Pats

Given that Britt has appeal rights, a suspension imposed in the immediate future likely wouldn’t keep Britt from playing in Week One.

Britt situation still under review | ProFootballTalk

The head coach also said that if Britt is active, he would probably play 15-20 snaps. Although not a lot of hoopla has been made about the Titans, I think they are a very dangerous offensive team, especially with Britt in the lineup. Locker has shown some promise and there's not a lot of game film on him. I think the trio of Washington-Britt-Wright is up there with the most explosive in the game (not to mentioned CJ out of the backfield), and with our secondary, it could be a good test early on. That is a lot of speed and playmaking, similar to Nicks-Cruz-Manningham and Wallace-Brown-Sanders, two trios that gave us problems last year.

I have no clue where you're seeing this "very dangerous" offensive team in the Titans. Locker is terrible and the "promise" he has shown has been against two very, very bad teams. He barely hits his receivers 50% of the time. The only thing you have to worry about with Locker is his running.
What the titans have is a good defense but as long as the Pats offensive line is solid, this is a W....hands down.

No he's right. Locker isn't "terrible". He's a wildcard, an unknown quantity, who poses a lot of potential problems beyond his arm. Plus a combination of their RB and WRs are as tough as we are going to see.

This was a 9-7 team LAST season, who has gotten better and added Cameron Wembley....and we are playing in THEIR home opener. But that stuff is better discussed in a couple of weeks.

What I don't understand is how Britt is avoiding a suspension. Is the Goodell all of a sudden gun shy now?! IIRC isn't Britt the brilliant young player who has more arrests than TDs. How can Goodell suspend anyone else if he can't suspend this kid.

Have you actually since Locker play? I have... several times. His accuracy is awful. His pocket poise is bad too.

As for that 9-7 team, they had Hasselbeck lead them to that record not Locker. They also lost Pro Bowl CB starter Courtland Finnegan.

Hurts the Pats and helps the Rats.

Easy decision for the Omissioner.

I worry a little bit about the Titans' offense insofar as Britt is a tough cover (Dowling will probably have to come up big), and he might have time to get back deep, since Locker can escape the pocket and is hard to bring down. All in all, they worry me less than most other teams, but I'd feel better if Britt wasn't playing. I think a lot of people forget how good he was at the beginning of last season before his injury.

Most sources I've read tend to indicate a 1-2 week suspension for Britt.

Good. If we can't beat them with Britt then we ought to find that out.

He may not be suspended, but that doesn't mean he'll make the game. There's at least a 60% chance he gets arrested on the way to the game.
