Please Belichick...DO NOT and I mean DO NOT look at another washed up no longer relevant LBer has-been who also hates this team.
I would think Belichick would sign him for cheap even if he is a loud mouth, but there is no way I want Porter to even be a thought for a veteran Pass Rusher.

Did you read the article before posting?
Yes,I read it - He said on the radio he wanted to leave and he also said he didn't another time,I really don't think the Dolphins want a player who is not sure he wants to be on the team,I expect him to be released in this case if he has the same kind of attitude.
I guarantee you that Parcells won't put up with this ***** being a distraction all offseason, either he is commited to being in Miami or he is not.

You do realize that for Porter to come to the team, he would actually have to have the desire to play in New England, right? Given he has already publicly stated that he "hates" this organization it seems pretty unlikely.
Re: OT: Joey Porter wants out of Miami, says he's done as a Dolphin
Like the LT discussion, I am not advocating getting Porter, but I still don't get why people are so against getting aging veterans. That is how the Pats won Super Bowls. This team desperately needs some veteran leadership and a change in attitude. You aren't going to get that from a rookie.
As for Porter specifically, he is the wrong type of player to bring in. He wore out his welcome in Florida because he refused to come out of games eventhough his coach has told him to come out. That is not the type of leadership the Pats need.
If Jason Taylor was willing to come here for short money, I would be all for it as long as the Pats didn't look at him as a full time starter. But Porter is another story.

Sure its unlikely - actually VERY unlikely, but with the way BB gives any player a possibility to come here and change his atitude you can't rule anyone out.

Aging veterans is one thing
Overrated, over the hill wash ups is another
Also, if you think veteran leadership or a positive change in attitude would come from Porter than you amaze me

From the Phininsider:

Apparently Joey Porter told a radio station in his hometown of Bakersfield, CA that he wasn't happy with his role in 2009 and he hopes he doesn't have to return to Miami.
Porter's agent is also reportedly scheduled to meet with the Dolphins this week. My thoughts? Thanks for 2008, Joey. But so long.
