Actually, I meant Mink DeVille. I hear he is making a comeback.

I think Shawne Merriman is high on thier list of potential LBs to replace the older vets...I would say he is in their top 10 FAs

If we wanted a linebacker that was locker room cancer, why not just keep AD?

I think Porter is actually a motivator to the other players in the locker room unlike an underacheiving and an "I don't care, ask him" guy like Thomas.

Porter does remind me of a Bryan Cox type player who was a very emotional player for the Phins but I still don't want him even thought of.

I think Dumervil is higher because of Mike Nolan's experience with him in Denver.

Why wouldn't the Pats want Dumervil? I know he's not a 6'5 giant like BB prefers, but he's such a demon in that 3-4 OLB spot. That's a guy that if we signed and say we re-signed TBc we'd have a pretty respectable pass rush right there.

Not really. They won superbowls by picking up players that could contribute.

They picked up players of all ages, from the youngest player ever drafted (PK Sam) to a guy who has retired a couple times (Junior Seau).

To say that the Patriots won the superbowl by signing old players is plain wrong, as wrong as it is to say you cannot win the superbowl if you sign an old player.

The key isn't how old a player is, it is what he can contribute. To suggest signing players because they are old is goofy (who himself is so old he played with a leather helmet in his earliest cartoons).

That’s what we always do, and I think the last nine years we’ve put a pretty competitive team out there on the field every year. I think that’s how you do it – you get good football players. Sometimes they are not always at the No. 1 position, but I don’t think you pass up good football players to get the guys who aren’t as good just because they’re at a position that somebody feels you need.”
