Default OT : NFL to ask group for review

NFL to ask competition committee to look again at teams benching starters at end of season. The issue is that a team "A" may fail to make the playoffs "because" team "B" decided to forfeit to team "C", when a loss by team "C" would have allowed team "A" to make the playoffs.

I will not take this crap seriously unless Polian recuses himself from the committee so that they can truly discuss this.

I think the funniest part of this is that, Bill Polian is on the competition committee.

"So, Bill Polian, do you think anything should be done to change teams resting starters at the end of the season?"

"No."

"Ok then."

Seriously though, there's not much that can be done. The league doesn't have any business telling a team who they can & can't play. The best way to mend this, would be to schedule games against the crap teams in the league the last two weeks. If we were playing & got beat by the Rams & Bills instead of the Jets & Bills, this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, with random changes in the league, that's near impossible to predict.

Well he did whine for a redefinition of passer interference, he should be able to shoot this one down.

I understand the other side of it but what the Colts do is just wrong. It was at it's worst two years ago when they got to pick who went to the playoffs and laid down like a slut for the Titans in choosing them over the Browns. Much like pornography, you know it when you see it and while their is no way to define exactly when this this is wrong in all cases, what the Colts do, seemingly repeatedly, is just flat out wrong.

There's nothing the NFL can or should do.

Is what the Colts did pathetic? Yes. Should they still have the right to do it? Yup.

I don't buy it. There's way too much chance of quid pro quo for laying down. So . . . what's a playoff spot worth these days anyway ???

I don't think this has a chance to change anything to begin with. More of a "We're looking into it" move.

Hey, I'm with you.

It's just...what can the league realistically do?

Hefty fines and loss of draft picks is about the only thing they could do
