Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team | ProFootballTalk.com

Seems to have drastically altered his "we're going to the playoffs" mantra to a more realistic "we'd have a hard time beating high schoolers" motto.

Default Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team

Wow. Someone needs some meds...

Richard Seymour's Raiders: From 'playoffs' to schoolboy also-rans - The Huddle: Football News from the NFL - USATODAY.com

Quote:
Last week, Richard Seymour had the Raiders flying to the playoffs.

This week, he's a little less enthusiastic about his 2-5 team' place in the NFL hierarchy.

The Raiders lost 38-0 to the Jets on Sunday. Afterward, Seymour had this to say about the team that last week he guaranteed would be in the NFL playoffs:
Quote:
"I don't think we could've beat an Oakland high school team today."
Seymour elaborated and said since the Raiders fell into such a deep hole early (24-0 at halftime), they weren't prepared to mount a comeback. The Raiders have scored just 62 points, second-fewest in the league.

"Playing from behind isn't our strong suit," Seymour said.

Eh.

The raider's defense isn't the problem in oakland.

Well he has a point. That's a Jets team that just lost 3 and a row and got beat by a weak Bills team the week before...at home too! Then they come into Oakland and beat them by 38 points.

They're not a playoff team at all. Not even close. They got lucky that Andy Reid couldn't coach his way out of a paper back at this point.

Very Bipolar behaviour. Apparently Richard is an emotional guy, blowing with the winds of the week.

Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people.
