As many as it takes to stop teams triple-teaming Tuck.

The Giants evidently feel about pass rushers the way the Colts feel about WRs.

Wonder how this will play into re-signing or extending Seymour. Personally, I would have been thrilled to plug Canty into Seymour's spot for that much money - Seymour is obviously the better player but Canty is younger, and getting a quality 3-4 DE to pair with Warren for a reasonable contract would have been nice.

Good pickup for the Giants. Obviously they feel Canty fits into what they want to do on defense - get after the QB.

FWIW-Canty may not be a Demarcus Ware player for us, and no, I'm not sure if he's worth that much, but nonetheless, this is a BIG loss for us b/c of his Run Defense.

Plus even though it took him some time, he was slowly, but surely starting to gel with Wade's schemes. Once upon a time ago, he was Tuna's apple of his eye in the latter rounds of the 2005 draft-so I wasn't sure if he could make the adjustment from Tuna's bend-but-don't-break schemes to Wade's attacking schemes, but he did eventually. Plus for a DE, he commands a BIG body(some 298 pounds).

Again-this is a BIG loss for us.

Make no mistake-Canty's departure will be a HUGE loss for Dallas. No-he's not exactly a Demarcus Ware, carry-a-team-on-my-back kind of guy, but he was VERY instrumental on this unit, especially his RUN DEFENSE. It was no coincidence that Parcells fell in love with him on draft day(he was drafted in the 4th round, but insiders talked about his steal potential then).

Is he REALLY worth this much? Honestly-I don't, and I'm kinda glad Jethro didn't open up his wallet here. However-like I said, not only was he instrumental on this unit, but he was also gelling with Wade's schemes slowly but surely-especially b/c supposedly, he was suited more for Parcells' schemes.

I mean heck-Jethro probably SHOULDN'T have broke the bank on Barber, and should have, instead used this money on Canty.
