Re: Tampa may already have a new head coach
I live down here in the Tampa Bay area and Ray Clay hit the nail on the head. Gruden never had a chance, unless he won a SB every year. The media didn't like him and the local fans followed like sheep. Though he was far from perfect, it was a case of a mediocre FO combined with unrealistic expectations from the locals.
It's funny watching this unfold because nationwide the attitude seems to be 'why fire a guy with back-to-back winning seasons' while the locals are saying 'should have happened a year or two ago.'
Before all this occured I thought the person that should have been replaced was the head of their scouting - and now he's the new GM. Combine that with a new HC who has never even been an DC.
Can't wait to hear the excuses next year.
