That is very true.

But if that's the case then do away with OT during the regular season entirely, and play either a full period, or the suggestion that Dfresh429 had for playoff games.

I would just like to see them ban field goals in OT. Nothing angers me more than seeing a game won on a coin-flip advantage followed by a 42-yard field goal taken from the middle of the field.

At least get into the red zone for christsakes. The current system is like having a PGA playoff on the driving range.

Brilliant and dead-on.

I guarantee your stats are wrong. Because they don't list ties. My recollection is that before the kickoff was moved, it was 51-45-4 or so, that may not be exactly right but the idea is there.

I like the system the way it is now. I agree with Banks. But I would support moving the kickoff up to address the post-1994 change, in order to placate people by bringing the stats back into line. But anything else I don't like.

I don't agree with having each team touching the ball in OT. This isn't like baseball, where a team needs to be at bat to score. In football, any element of the team, offense, defense and special teams can score.

I think it should be left alone.

A sarcastic Bill Belichick on Tom Brady's finger injury, "It's not life threatening."

What's the percentages on defenses scoring first in overtime?
