Hell, for that matter, how did the Patriots look in the Super Bowl and the start of this season when Neal wasn't in at right guard?

Don't bash people who bash Favre and just become a Favre apologist who will excuse Favre from all his faults by blaming everyone else around him for them. Sorry, Favre WAS one of the best of all time, but he has been a shell of his former self for a while now.

Look at Brady in 2006. He had Reche Caldwell as his lead receiver and not much else along with a washed up RB who was spent by the end of the first half of every game and he brought the team within one minute of the Super Bowl. Special QBs can elevate bad talent.

Good post and I agree. You can't put a QB in the top 5, or even 10, who is as well known for "the Favre interception" as he is for any other aspect of his game. His game streak and longevity are his main claims to fame, but he's been too erratic in his career to be up there with Montana, Unitas, Brady, Graham, Elway, Marino, P. Manning and a few others. He's something like a Fran Tarkenton with his great career stats, but also a lot of warts.

Anyone else read that article where Favre talks about how he didn't even know what a nickel formation was until well into his NFL career? Not exactly a student of the game.

Perhaps this means Favre will be forced to skip the Pro Bowl, which is good because he deserves no part of it. Rivers is the first alternate so he would play in his place.

i dont know why the media gives favre a free pass on being a selfish jerk. he does this drama queen act every offseaon expecting the team to wait on him, and if he doesnt then he blasts them in the press. most players would get killed by the media for this behavior but lord favre can do no wrong. favre should just go away for good, so sick of this freak show.

Looks like Favre had a pretty good 'excuse'.

i think the media is well aware of the Favre hate that is out there ... thus they keep him in the news ... reverse logic is working for them.
