He's the reason the steelers lost today.

Historically based on stats, Big Ben is still on track to be a HOF.

that pick before half ultimately hurt them. it's kind of funny that we have a thread in here about BB being afraid because he is conservative before half time.

?????????

HOF is hugely dictated by Super Bowl rings(which he has 1) unless you break records like Marino.

Let's not get carried away. He had a bad game, he's not Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but he's still a top 5 QB IMO and has a ring where his arm was a huge part of their run through the AFC playoffs.

He's obviously got his problems but the Steelers just have nothing on the Offensive Line. Sometimes Ben does too much to overcome that but it's hard to expect any QB to do too well when they're getting shellacked every passing play.

Look at all time NFL QB stats. By most measures, Big Ben is a top 20 of all time QB so far in his career trajectory. But he did have a horrible game today.

Tom Brady does have bad games too, about once or twice every year.

Ben is a player who let his ego get in the way of his sound development. He didn't want to be a game manager, he wanted to be The Franchise. Last week he got reemed by his 2nd year HC for making stupid mistakes and bad decisions repeatedly. He admitted he doesn't work hard enough on game prep and vowed to change. He wants to play sandlot ball, and his ego is part of the reason Cowher decided to take his sabatical and move on. Tomlin and Arens played right into Ben's ego last season and they are now paying the price. And so is Ben. And so are Steeler fans. It's not a lack of protection with Ben so much as recklessness and stubborness. And 5 years in it will be tough to change his subconscious mindset. Like Favre they can behave in small segments, not long term - it's not fun enough.
