What to do with Javon Walker? - New England Patriots Forums

Well, I traded Darrell Jackson for Javon Walker a few weeks ago but the reality is Walker may not play the rest of the season or at least until week 13-14.

So, should I drop Walker and pick up Chris Henry? I am asking now because I know that he will get picked up pretty quickly if I don't pull the trigger on this. Other WR's I have are Housh, Ward, Bowe, and Engram. At least Bowe and Engram have some value to me right now. Also, I have Mushin Muhammed who I am going to drop to pick up an extra D because I have the Pats D which will be on a bye in 2 weeks and Dallas and Seattle's D is out there right now for the taking.

Help...?

I'd try to offer a bunch of trades for Walker to see if anyone bites. If not I'd drop him because IMO he's a worthless roster spot. The prognosis is 6 weeks and now they are trying to be hopeful saying maybe four. Even if he comes back after only four weeks and starts, which is highly unlikely, he's going to be a very shaky start. I think, if you are in a really good league then drop him for a couple of weeks and pick up Kevin Walter or someone then if you hear some good news in couple of weeks pick him up again. If not it's not the end of the world, I'm 75% sure he won't be a good start for the rest of the year, especially if the Broncos are out of the playoff hunt by week 12.

I am trying to trade him as well but he doesn't exactly have any trade value. I am trying to package him with Bobby Engram and/or Dwayne Bowe for Calvin Johnson.

Would anyone here do that trade if the other WR's that they had were Wes Welker, Santonio Holmes, and Derrick Mason?

OR, Javon Walker and Bobby Engram or Dwayne Bowe for Chris Chambers when you also have Randy Moss and Bernard Berrian.

Why would you trade Bowe for CJ? I Thought Bowe was outproducing him.
A better target is probably Buress or L. Coles.

Or try to pick up Colston while his value is down.
I got him in a trade recently and he just scored 2 TDs for me this week! Woot!

I don't know your league set up, but a platoon of Engram, Bowe, Engram, Welker and Holmes and Mason is pretty damn good. I want Holmes right now cuz I think he's going off in the next few weeks. I'd sit tight with Moss, Berrian, Engram and Bowe also, if your talking about another team you have.

Try picking up Kevin Walter or Roddy White and just dropping Walke if you can or Stokley or Greg Jennings or someone else.

Bowe is outproducing him although Johnson has a better road ahead of him. Also, I have Kitna and the Kitna/Johnson connection would be sweet.

Burress is locked up, they guy wants too much for him (he's a Gints fan) and Coles, well, new QB, he's hurt and I LOATHE the rats.

As far as Colston, didn't think of him. Will give him a shot.

My post was a little confusing. The other guy has Moss and Berrian, not me.

I have Engram (who will lose a lot of looks once Branch and Hackett return, trying to sell high)and Bowe (I feel he has peaked and only outproduced Johnson because Johnson had a bye and missed a game or two with an injury).

As far as Walker, I just read something where he said that he is feeling "much better" and will return before the 6 week window. I am just tired of wasting a roster spot with him.

Chris Henry is still out there though....
