27. MICHAEL BROCKERS DT LSU
The Patriots are another team regularly changing fronts, and this 6-foot-6, 306-pound redshirt sophomore will look to show everyone at the combine that he has the athleticism to play both the 3-4 five-technique spot and an interior role in the 4-3.
28. COBY FLEENER TE STANFORD
29. KELECHI OSEMELE T IOWA STATE
30. ALSHON JEFFERY WR SOUTH CAROLINA
31. NICK PERRY DE USC
The odds of the Patriots keeping this pick are very low; some team will once again take out a second mortgage on their future with Bank Belichick to pick someone who seems like a great value. But the Pats could be tempted by the potential conversion of Perry from 4-3 defensive end to 3-4 rush linebacker, seeing him as an instant upgrade to their lackluster pass rush.
27 seems unrealistic because I doubt Brockers falls that fall, while 31 seems unrealistic because I can't see BB taking a DE/OLB conversion from USC that high.

re: Realistic or not? Reuter mock on NFL.com: DT Michael Brockers, DE Nick Perry
We caught a lot of breaks during the season. That would be another. Ochmed has suggested trading into the late teens if Brockers starts to slip. I think that is a more realistic scenario than him falling to 27.

I would be estatic to take Brockers at #27. Just plug the tape in of this kid and see the tremndous raw talent. In the BCS game alone, while the other LSU players were vacationing, Brockers had 7 tackles a scak and a blocked FG.
He is the real deal, but he does need time to develop a bit more. Most important after a couple of years in the system, he will be commanding double teams from opposing offenses, that will free up opportunities for outide OLB pressure, exotic blitzes and overload blitzes.
Instead of Perry, I am taking Cox at #31. Cox was a four time DL of the week in the SEC this past year. He played inside and outside and was very difficult to run on.
As I said before if Brockers falls to #16, if I was BB and have a dance partner, I go get Brockers for #31 and #48.
DE Brockers
DE Cox
OLB Curry
and two DB's and my draft is a tremendous success.

Fail mock
I do find it interesting that the packers would sort of emulate the pats by taking another stud TE.

for sure... I have the pats in my board's mock game. Traded Hernandez for Jordy Nelson a second and a 4th. Duped the guy good. I plan on taking Allen/Fleener with one of my 3 picks within 27-36
re: Realistic or not? Reuter mock on NFL.com: DT Michael Brockers, DE Nick Perry
Brockers won't be available there but if he was, you'd be stupid to let him fall any further! He has some issues being one year starter but it's all there...just needs to be coached into him. With one more year at LSU he'd have been top 5, potentially a top pick.
As for Perry, I wouldn't take him anywhere in the first round. I ahve him falling out because of his frame, question marks over whether he can convert to an OLB in an NFL system where he has had little of it in the NCAA, and the fact he isn't versatile enough to put his hand in the dirt. So many people have this guy going high because of raw athletic talent, but I don't think he;'s worth it. He'll get drafted, but I wouldn't waste a first on him. All he is to me right now is an athletic freak.

Agree on both parts. Brockers will be a stud in this league. Perry is a huge ? for me and im passing on him until the end of the second.
