Default Gholston or Groves

i know which the experts like best...but say gholston somehow slides down to 7....do you want to take him? or trade up to say 14 and take groves instead?

im not as high as others on either, but i think that they will both be similar in theh pros...workouts were very similar, except gholston's VJ was 42 in, and groves only 35in...

im pretty sure every other stat was equal.....so which would you want at their respective slots? gholston at 7, or groves at 14 (keep money and salary cap in mind...)

i think i go for groves....b/c it will aslo give us an extra pick in rd 2

This is a dumb question. Gholston at #7 would be great. It obvious.

It seems to be a loaded question, because really you're asking would I rather have Gholston, or would I rather have Groves andAntoine Cason.

Clearly, I'd rather have two good players than one. However, I have more confidence in Gholston being a successful OLB in the NFL than I do Groves.

I'd take Gholston. Superstar athletes don't grow on trees.

The way he has looked as of late makes me highly doubt he will still be available at #7, but who knows.

If only we could get Rodgers-Cromartie and Groves...

I'd take Gholston and then draft Tracy Porter or Patrick Lee in Round 2. Brandon Flowers could now fall deep into round 2 as well now. You take the bets player of the bunch clearly Gholston, and then you work from there.

I think when you are in position to draft that high you do whatever manuvering you can to get the BEST guy you can. I like Gholston more because I think he is more built to stand up at the point of attack. Last year we proved its about QUALITY not quantity, and I think the differences can be made up later in the draft. The question is, if Gholston goes higher(like the Mayock Mock)do we trade UP to get Long...again, no brainer, you get the best player you can while in that position.

I think Chris Long has Patriot written all over him. I'd do what I could to get him. If like Mayock think he may fall a bit, I'd be on the phone with Kansas City to jump up to #5 and get Long. Long may not turn out to be a good of a Pro as Gholston, but I think Long will be more consistent and just a great team guy. He'll be a stud for 10yrs.

I would easily take Groves and a mid 2nd rounder. I mean, at least Groves has experience at OLB. Does anyone know how Gholston would do in pass coverage? That's one thing the Colvin was good at besides getting to the QB.

Thumbs up Re: Gholston or Groves

I'm beginning to think that the Patriots continue with their (low)risk-(high)reward approach. So I'm going to say, neither Gholston or Groves. That's right, they will pass on both!

I think they bring in more veteran help at both CB and LB, in particular, CB Lito Shepherd and LB Jason Taylor. I think they trade down once to Philly for Shepherd, then again to Miami at the top of round two for Jason Taylor.

With those positions filled, now the Patriots can continue with their current belief that the game has shifted to Offense. Therefore, their top two picks are WR Devin Thomas, replacing Stallworth, and TE Kellen Davis, replacing Kyle Brady. In fact, I'll go one step further and say the TE is picked first.
