I used the rankings as a guide, but I think many of these players are going higher than they are presently ranked. My picks reflect where I think thye will go.
17. Aldon Smith DE/LB Missouri - wouldn't be surprised if he was taken earlier. I think the choice of Condon hurts JJ Watt, eliminating him from Pats board
28. Brooks Reed DE/LB Arizona - why not double up!
33. Marcus Cannon OT TCU - Excellent pass blocker. Most underrated OLineman in draft
60. Jarvis Jenkins DT Clemson - Another wide body DE candidate
74. Clint Boling OG Georgia - BB loves those SEC players
92. Shane Vereen RB Cal - Didn't see much of him, from what I have read he seems to be a great pick at this point in the draft.
123. Cortez Allen CB Citadel - Already has had private workout with Pats staff
156. Brandon Fusco OC Slippery Rock - Showed he could play with the big boys at Senior Bowl - Already interviewed by Pats
184. Shiloh Keo S Idaho - I loved his play in the East/West game. Team leader. Volunteered to play ST in all star game. Big Safety. Mayock said to throw out the poor 40's at the combine. Both Mayock and Deion Sanders loved him during the drills.

-- 17: OLB Ryan Kerrigan - Watt is gone and those pesky rules ... plus or minus 3? Meh.
-- 28: DE Muhammad Wilkerson
-- 33: DL Stephen Paea - These pesky rules again, too bad the OP can't follow his own rule 2.
-- 60: OL Ben Ijalana
-- 74: OL James Carpenter
-- 92: RB Jordan Todman
- 123: CB/FS Jalil Brown
- 156: WR/PR/KR Jeremy Kerly
- 184: OL Brandon Fusco
You made the rules. How do you get top pick #48 Reed. He is not within 5 slots + or - of any of the picks.

1. Use CBS Sports Rankings here. (Updated 3/12 as of this post but just use the one thats most current when you do your mock.)
2. You may select +/- 3 slots on Day 1, 5 slots on Day 2, and 10 slots on Day 3.
3. Heres the hard part. No trades!
Here are the Pats picks:
17,28,33,60,74,92,123,156,&184
Here we go:
Day 1
#17 JJ Watt DE, Wisconsin. I'm sold on this kid's athleticism, length, and motor. He just makes plays and could make a huge impact for the Pats defensive line.
#28 Derek Sherrod OT, Miss St. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to protect Brady's blindside!
Day 2
#33 Brooks Reed OLB/DE, Arizona. Pin back your ears and get after the QB! Is it the hair? He's a bad, bad man!
#60 Benjamin Ijalana OG, Villanova. A big ugly to serve as our Mankins insurance.
Day 3
#74 Kenrick Ellis DT, Hampton. At 6'4, 340 lbs, Ellis is a monster load for OL to handle. He could play a role for the Pats in run stopping packages.
#92 Edmond Gates WR, Abiline Christian. A speedster to stretch the field and make defenses back up a little.
#123 Buster Skrine CB, Chattanooga. A slot corner to challenge Butler and Wilhite is a need. Skrine has the agility and burst to excel at that position. He also looks like a potential 4 down player.
#156 Greg Romeus DE, Pittsburgh. Rolling the dice on the injury risk in case he turns out to be a stud. This late in the draft, why not gamble on greatness?
#184 Roy Helu Jr RB, Nebraska. A fast guy with a solid build who also caught the ball in college. Yes, he ran behind college football's best offensive line. But despite splitting carries he was a very productive and versatile player. Senior player with plenty of tape who flashed his speed recently at the NFL combine.
Notes: It was sooo tough to do a mock without trades. But I think this one turns out with some players I could definitely live with.

Reed is ranked at #48 and I took him with pick #33. Therefore I had to take him earlier than I wanted to get my guy. This fits within the rules. What I meant was you couldn't take any earlier than your slot by x picks. Sorry, I think I could have made that clearer. This rule was really meant to avoid people unrealistically taking say Patrick Peterson with pick #28. Not to prevent people from taking their favorite players earlier than they are ranked. Feel free to take a #35 ranked guy with your #28 pick if you feel he's a 1st round value for the Pats!

So, the rule for Round 2 is -3 to +100, not -3 to +3. Got it!

17 DE Watt (15)
28 DT Wilkerson (27)
33 LB Reed (48)
60 OL Ojilana (65)
74 S Darling (69)
92 RB Todman (87)
123 OG Moffitt (139)
156 QB McElroy (168)
184 C Fusco (175)
This is a pretty good one. I like Watkins over Ojilana if he slips to #60 and I like Murray at the RB with a little more size and speed, 71 catches last year and is a game breaker. They did not throw much to Todman. Maybe Murray at #74, Romeus at #92, Keo at 156 (screams Patriot) and bump McElroy to #184 in the fifth.
I like how you reshaped the D Line with talent. Great job there.
I think we should get a Comp for Watson?
Romeus is a steal for someone but for injuries last year he would be a top ten pick. He could wind up being the best OLB/DE in this class.
I like Fusco too. Maybe Fusco is the Comp?
I am glad you did not go with Smith at OT (way too underpowered and small for this O Line at less than 300lbs), Sherrod is a smart kid who's game attribute is finesse and we know BB would not look for that brand, Houston who takes plays off and vanishes (and we wanted to tar and feather Moss) or Ayers who has all the right OLB tools but does not own a pass rush game (click him off your board right away). I also do not want Wisniewski. We have a Penn State JAG already. Penn State is a great college Team but their Pro record has been terrible the past five or seven years. Quick...name a starting Penn State Player in the NFL? He is smaller than Koppen and we want him? Why? Same deal as Smith to me. A little puny.
I like Watkins also, but he is currently ranked 43. Ojinala is fine valuie at 60. I am contrained the values given. If trades were allowed, I could simply trade our 60 plus our 92 for 43 and draft Watkins instead. as you point out, losing out on Todman is no big deal.
Yes, I also liek Murray at 74. He could very well be our choice. I would not be surprised to see us find two running backs in free agency. However, a reasonable safety seems right if we can get one.
With regard to comp picks, Crumpler counts. I don't see us getting more than a 7th.
