No player has won my heart yet although I have been flirting and dating several.

If I had to make the pick today, it would be Cam Jordon.

If the draft fell like that ...

Ryan Kerrigan, DL, Purdue.

Purdue has a history of producing defensive ends who successfully transition to linebacker in the NFL. Kerrigan is yet another of those hard charging Purdue defensive line products known for getting after the passer while playing heads-up run defense. Kerrigan's demonstrated agility and mobility in Combine linebacker drills argue for his ability to learn and execute coverage assignments as an outside linebacker for the NE defense.

Jordan is probably the best value there, but I'm going to go with Brandon Harris. I'm not convinced Jordan, Kerrigan, Clayborn, or Watt will fit right away, from a physical stand-point, on the Pats. Harris is a definite upgrade over Butler and Whilite and he can also return kicks. In the first round you want to guarantee you are upgrading your team and that makes Harris the safest pick.

I like the way you think. Selecting Harris would be something I could envision the Patriots doing, although I feel they would trade down a bit first (a la 2010). Two other names to keep in mind besides Harris if they trade down are defensive linemen Cameron Hayward and Muhammad Wilkerson.

Toss up between Jordan and Watt. Went with Watt. Irrational exuberance for his upside.

I like the fact Heyward gained weight and is positioning himself for 3-4 end. His pro day will be telling. Wilkerson might be a bit high for 17. He'll probably go in the second round.

Two other potentials I didn't mention that would fit value and need with minimal question marks are Anthony Castonzo and Derek Sherrod.
