If you had told a Patriots fan in 2009 that they would have their pick of either of these 3 guys in the second round, or in Hardy and Selvie's case later, they would have laughed you out of the building and then fainted. So my question is was the original assessment made on these guys that far off the mark last year or are these guys late bargains??? To play devil's advocate you could say Selvie received more blocking attention after his monster year, Hardy's injury problems could be behind him, and all the noise surrounding Dunlap could just be hogwash. Would you want any of them?

To me, Selvie is too slow to play OLB, even in a 3-4. Could be a decent 4-3 end though.
Hardy is both an injury concern and a character/motor concern. His 40 times
(4.82) indicate his injuries have forever hampered his burst and long speed or he hasn't cared enough to rehab properly. Wouldn't pick him until the 5th.
I am not a Dunlap fan, unless he goes to the Patriots. No this is not just blatant homerism. If the Pats select Dunlap, that means Dunlap's motor/character has given a stamp of approval from Meyer to BB. Yes, I remember Chad Jackson, but doesn't that mean Meyer has to be extra cautious with his reccomendations to BB, meaning he would only give one if he was ABSOLUTLEY sure of a player?
There is no questioning Dunlap's talent and I certainly think he has the agility, along with the strength, length, and speed to play OLB in the Pats system. His biggest on-field problem (besides motor) is his tendency to stand straight up on the snap, an issue that is somewhat negated at OLB.
The other intriguing thing with Dunlap is his stock. I could see him going anywhere from mid/late round 1 to all the way to the end of the 2nd round. If the Pats pass on Dunlap at 53, we will certainly know what Urban Meyer thought of him.
this is the entire reason i am not enamored with JPP. Not that he doesn't have talent but who is to say he isn't just another selvie with one good year? playing on the opposite side to selvie who was getting all the attention from the defense.
