Ebert has had plenty of chances to prove himself. It's called practice.

OK, then do the same for Stallworth.
And just because Brady made good, doesn't mean every scrub should be afforded the same opportunity. Brady made it so the team was unable to cut him. Ebert was unimpressive in TC, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I'd tend to agree with your last sentence, BUT they did bring him back. They must like him for some reason. Lets not forget, Edelman was a 7th round pick, and played QB in college. Ebert was a very productive receiver in college.
re: Why hasn't Jeremy Ebert been activated from the Practice Squad ?
I thought Ebert was a very good college WR, I watch a lot of Big 10 football, his problem is that he is what they already had in Welker and Edelman. Ebert was a go to guy in college. He was going to have a hard time making this team out of camp, especially considering that Edelman was an ascending player offensively who was a very productive special teams player. Ebert has the speed and quickness to become a factor now that he's got another shot he needs to put in the work.

I hate to pass judgement on a kid we barely saw play. But for me, the fact that the team didn't even bother to sign Ebert to their practice squad after final cuts says something about their opinion of him.

That is not what I am contending nor what you are arguing against. My point is that he's had plenty of practices to show what he can do, and getting to play in a game isn't the difference between having and not having the chance to prove himself.

Unless he is not ready to play vs. Houston, in which case he can stay on the roster exempt status until Tuesday, leaving the open spot for Ebert or perhaps Branch, if he's healed up. Then someone else would have to be cut on Tuesday though.

The Pats added Talib to the roster before they needed to. I think that adding Bolden would actually be a good thing. Let him pound the rock with Ridley, Vereen and Woodhead. Tire out Houston's D-line and then pound it some more. That is one of the better ways to neutralize Houston's pass rush.
When the Pats were alternating Ridley and Bolden, Ridley still got 15+ carries and Bolden was putting up 5.4 YPC..
In fact, I just realized that Houston is pretty thin at LBer since Brooks Reed and Bradie James are both out and they lost Cushing earlier in the year. Yes, Tim Dobbins is playing well, but he's more of a coverage guy than a run stopping LB.
