The Pats aren't fools and I don't think they'll let a good foot soldier like Welker walk over a few dollars. He's simply too good and too much of a team player.
I also wonder what other players might feel if the Pats played hardball with him, especially since before this year they had him under wraps for cheap money compared to his production.
Pay the man. He's worth every penny
