Default What AFC team scares you the most?

On our road to the Superbowl (fingers crossed), what team do you fear the most? I know theres been plenty of AFC threads and alot of threads about which route and teams we would prefer to play but what team do you really just want to avoid at all costs?

I've added Cinci in there because they aren't a terrible team, very young and Dalton and Green is a lethal connection.

No "Other" option?

I'd vote for the Rats just in case their "suck" is contagious.

We've been on the same field with them for two whole games.

I mean, what if Scar starts complaining that he is being forced to play Cannon more than he wants?

I wouldn't say 'fear' per se. But I think our strongest threats are the Texans, Ravens, and Broncos respectively. Pats own the tiebreaker vs the Broncos though, so I'm ok with hosting them at Gilette.

1. Texans because they're balanced and have superstars on both sides of the ball.
2. Steelers because Big Ben is a top 10 QB and they have a really good defense.
3. Broncos because they have a good offense and a really good defense.
4. Bengals because they can be decent.
5. Ravens (on the road) because they have good players on both sides of the ball but they're not playing well this year. If they're at home they go above the Bengals bc the Ravens get home cooking from the refs.

I think I'd have to go with Houston first of all. They are all around better than the other teams and it'd be a very tough game facing them on the road. Ravens would come second just since it's always a tough game against them and they will find ways to win (or lose). Denver would be a more favorable match up than either of those teams, in my opinion. Pittsburgh is only scary with Big Ben and Polomalu and Cincinnati doesn't scare me a single bit.

I voted Houston. Though Baltimore scares me just as much. I really feel those are the only 2 teams that can stop the Pats. The Pats have proven they can score 30+ against almost anyone, EXCEPT teams with tough physical defenses (Baltimore, NY Giants). Not that the Pats are a finesse team, but they always seem to get held to under 30 points when facing those types of defenses, and usually lose close low scoring games. Houston's defense AND offense scares me. Baltimore can score too. Denver is good, and Peyton always scares me, but I feel the Pats have a better overall team than Denver.

I respect Houston and to a lesser extent Denver and their chances to beat us but I am not sure how anyone answers anything other than Balt especially considering the likely return of Rey.

Houston has earned their spot at the top but their lack of playoff sucess or even playoff experience leaves me scared of them but not the most.

Denver again I think you have to respect their record and that D and Peyton but look at the numbers we have put up on that D the last 3 times we played them.

To me that leaves Baltimore a team that has beat us this year and in the playoffs a few years back. Not to mention coming a missed FG kick away from beating us and heading to the SB last year.

Lastly if you consider Home Field Advantage I think at home we run through Hou and Denver but again Balt has shown they can win here. On the flip side I dont fear going to Houston and I equally fear going to Denver or Balt.

I'm actually a bit surprised by the fact that, as it turns out, none of those teams really scare me at this point. Houston is the big unknown and of course has the best record, but they've hardly looked invincible.

Big final stretch coming, but right now it feels like a healthy Patriots team playing well in all three phases is the scariest of all.

I'd rank it like this...

1. Denver - Firing on all cylinders (be it against a pansy schedule) right now. Talented team whose quarterback is extremely familiar with the Patriots, both in the regular season in the playoffs. If we must play them, I'd rather it be in Foxborough.

2. Houston - Exceptionally talented on offense at the skill positions, capable of lighting weaker pass defenses up, excellent run game and the conviction to stick with it, defense is also talented when they get a couple of starters back.

3. Baltimore - Because the game always seems to be close. As things stand right now, I think the Pats would blow them out in a re-match and would be able to beat them on their home turf.

The rest you could arrange in any order.

I voted Denver because of Peyton Manning.
