Question on practice squad signings -- when you sign someone off someone else's PS they have to stay on the 53-man roster for at least three games. What about when you promote from your own PS?
I believe if we cut Salas again we risk losing him. And seeing as another team was already interested in him (which is why we gave him a raise), he is likely going to be on our active roster for the rest of the season.

I am shocked at the Branch move. With Hernandez out and Welker a maybe, aren't they very thin in the WR/TE Corps?

Well Branch hasn't been much of a factor this year.. he cannot get open at all. The 2 plays I remember from him so far are the monster hit he took from Ed Reed and the pick Brady threw when he tried to throw it to him in perfect coverage against the Seahawks.

You don't remember how he kept 3 or 4 of our drives alive against the Rams two games ago?

Branch had his best game of the season Sun. But Welker (ankle), Lloyd (knee) and Branch (Hamstring) are all questionable for tomorrow. Leaves only Edelman as a healthy true WR. And he is our least reliable WR. So injuries necessitated the Salas move. They could have released Rivera, for instance, as he has been released and unclaimed previously. They must be reasonably confident that an injured Branch goes unclaimed, but it is a risk.
