Default Key 2011 Players that the Patriots let walk

Andre Carter (Oak) - N/A
Mark Anderson (Buf) - 12tckl 1sck
Green-Ellis (Cinn)- 300yds, 3.3ypc, 2tds

I know its early but its looking like BB made great decisions to move on when he did.

It's Cincy, so your expectations have to be lowered. And, not to knock on BJGE because you have to love the kid, but he's had 2 fumbles as well.

He's actually put the ball on the ground three times this season.

Its pretty dumb to say this early that these were good moves.

If a year down the line they still aren't producing then yeah.....and another thing is how do you know how they would have performed on THIS team this year?.....its impossible to say.

Im haunted by Chad Jackson in this #85 jersey, Lloyd could've pick a different number lol

Anyway, I feel bad for BJGE, yeah he had 3 fumbles already and I'm one of his fan. I thought we gonna miss him when Ridley start fumbling the balls, but our RB was the big surprise this season, they're making us forget about Hernandez

How many times have we seen players excel in our system, only to become mediocre in another??...

This coaching staff plays to these guys strengths, while others look to these guys to be something different then they really are... they were more valuable as Patriots than they are to other teams.

Too early to say Belichick made the right call?

I know that if these moves had worked out great for their new teams it wouldn't be 'too early' to call Belichick ' too clever for his own good' or Kraft 'too cheap'.

I think the Ridley vs Green-Ellis comparison bears note.

For 2011,

BenJarvus Green-Ellis 181 carry 667 yds 3.7yds/carry 11 TDs
Stevan Ridley 87 441 5.1 1
Danny Woodhead 77 351 4.6 1
Shane Vereen 15 57 3.8 1
Kevin Faulk 17 57 3.4 0

This year

Ridley 102 490 4.8 4
Bolden 37 206 5.6 2
Woodhead 36 119 3.3 1
Vereen 2 1 .5 1

This year projected

Ridley 326 1568 4.8 12
Bolden 118 659 5.6 6
Woodhead 115 380 3.3 3
Vereen 6 2 .5 3

2012 Projection total
565 carries 2609 yds 4.6 yds/carry 24 TDs

2011 combined totals
377 carries 1573 yds 4.2 yds/carry 14 TDs

After 5 games in 2012
177 carries 816 yds 4.6 yds/carry 8 TDs

RB Salary 2011 (total contract/years=averaged payout)

BJGE $1.8 mill
Ridley $730K
Woodhead $700k
Vereen $865k

Total $4.095 mill

RB Salary in 2012

Ridley $730k
Woodhead $700k
Vereen $865k
Bolden $487k

Total $2.782 mill

2012 BJGE with Cinn. $3 mill (averaged)

2012 BJGE stats
91 300 3.3 2

2012 Projected BJGE stats
291 960 3.3 6

Conclusion: Projecting 2600 yds and 24 TDs at a cost of $2.7 mill is likely the best value in the NFL. The Pats project to surpass 2011 run production by their 10th game. Ridley should fly past BJGE projection by game #10 as well. BB and company have hit a grand slam
