Wolfe is impressing me already for the Broncos.

The DROY will be won by a defensive rookie who plays really well throughout the course of the season. Based on today, I have no idea and neither does anyone else if they're being completely honest about it.

As of right now, Jones is the leader. His strip sack and five tackles (two for a loss) is better than any of the other potential DROY had this weekend thus far. In fact, Hightower would be second based on this weekend alone with four tackles and a fumble return for a TD.

I think Jones will have an excellent shot to win it. He could have 10 plus sacks this year which will put him in strong contention. Kuechly has an excellent shot too, but Jones got the early lead on him. Obviously Ingram hasn't played yet this week and he may have a shot.

Today is an indicator of where the rookies are in their development which is pretty big on whether they will contend. So we have some idea who the early candidates are, but of course, that can change over the course of the season.

Well if Jones keeps up at this rate he is in for a 16 sack season, which should easily win DROY. ;-)

So Mayo, you like this Lavonte David kid, eh? Tell me more.

He does look good, and if Schiano pulls a dramatic turnaround for Tampa -- which is certainly possible -- people could start paying attention.

I think it's the 16 forced fumbles and 32 TFL that will really sway the voters.

Damn, what tipped you off? I thought I was hiding it pretty well.

I think Hightower's 16 TDs win
