Arrow Boston.com: Predict the Pats play

Pretty cool tool:

Patriots Play Predictor - Boston.com

You select down, distance and field position/range and it churns out stats on the Pats' tendencies for 2011, and some of the top play choices. You can see, for example, that on second and five at midfield (40 yard line to 40 yard line), the Pats passed 67% of the time. Inside the 20 in the same down-distance situation, they went for the run 75% of the time. No big surprise there really, but fun to play around with.

I'm guessing a few posters here can use it to validate some of their arguments about the Pats' offensive tendencies. ...

Edit: OK, I'm going to add one more thing: Overall, the Pats were pretty even on first and 10, passing 53% of the time. Inside their own 25 on first and ten, they passed 65% of the time. Inside opponents' 25, running was (barely) the choice, 52%.

That's interesting. I have every play from last season in our database, so I may set up something similar for both last year and this year. It gave me a few ideas
