As said several times, by the afternoon of Monday September 10th - after 2-3 QB's go down with injury in game one - they will be calling him.
His value wasn't now. It was Monday September 10th.
Value and Hoyer can't be used in the same sentence.
I never got any proof that Hoyer was ever worth anything but being a JAG and an dire emergency QB at best.
A 4th round trade for him like some expected goes beyond laughable and stupid,he rarily showed anything resembling a QB capable of producing in this level.
The only thing he had going for him was he watched from the sidelines and practices of one of the greatest QBs to play the game...and NOTHING else.
No team like Kafka enough to claim him, and he was cheap too, unlike Hoyer.
Couldnt the Pats wait for Hoyer to clear waivers and just pay him 1/2 of his current contract? He already knows the system and would suffice as a 3rd string QB

If Hoyer is willing to come be the #3 for the Pats, there's nothing stopping him from signing with them.
while it's true teams have started to enter the season with only 2 qbs more and more, this kafka guy, the few times i've seen him , has been unphaseable and highly efficient
i think cutting him was a big mistake by the eagles
Why anyone is clinging to the idea that Belichick cut a valuable commodity in Hoyer is baffling. A valuable commodity goes unclaimed? But he'll have value later!
So we keep him on the roster in the event that Vick or Bradford or any other QB goes down over the next few weeks? What team is going to come begging for Hoyer? He is not that good. He's more desirable than Colt McCoy, Matt Moore, and countless other non-starting QB's out there?
Those who forget history are doomed to repeat mistakes.....or something like that.
Michael Bishop - could have been our Kordell Stewart, taking us to the promised land. When really he was a poor man's Kordell Stewart. And Kordell Stewart turned out to be flat out poor.
Rohan Davey - he was never going to play because of Brady, but what potential! He was the MVP of a league played somewhere that "football" is a sissy game where players prance around a field trying to win One to Nil. How did we not get a 1st round pick for him, as so many said that was his price?
Brian Hoyer - other teams will line up to trade for a guy who learned behind Tom Brady for 3 years. Sure, he's never actually done anything on an NFL field to impress the desperate teams looking to pick up Patriot scraps, but he's gotta be worth a 2nd or 3rd, right?
Sergio f'in Brown has been claimed! Yet Hoyer waits.
Besides, what if Belichick got a 2nd for Hoyer? Everyone would have complained when he reached on another guy absent from the Kiper's big board.
