Shameless Homer plug:

Note... I don't normally drink Bud of any type. Personally, I have PBR in my fridge for daily consumption. BUT, being the shameless Homer that I am, I bought some of these. Prolly buy more too. Sigh. Sometimes I hate the way I am.......

The hell with that crap...Sammy Oktoberfest, and a bottle of whisky in case I feel like drinking with a purpose...can't wait until winter lager is out, one of my favourites.

Well, I always have a large bottle of Evan Williams bourbon to hand, so there's that. It's probably sacrilege and all that, but I've never understood all the hoopla surrounding Sam Adams. I've tried all their products, and their summer ale isn't bad at all, but for every day consumption I'll take my PBR, thank you very much.

Now, when I go out, I'll order Newcastle, McSorley's or Guinness. I do prefer dark ales and stouts.

Agree OTG. For the overly obsessed with football - as we all are - this forum makes the offseason much more entertaining and insightful.

Re: purchasing random stuff you normally wouldn't buy just b/c somebody slapped a Patriots logo on it. Yup, yeah I do that, too.

Ahhh...Sammy.

Sam Adams.

Patriot and Scholar.

Sam Adams OctoberFeast is The Finest Beer in All The Land!!

But when I forge my first 10 Billion, I'm going to buy that company OUT ~ after I Buy Out Brother Kraft, of course ~ just so that I can eradicate and exterminate this disgusting habit of rolling out OctoberFeast in August...and Winter Lager in October.

Serving Sam Adams out'f season is an Atrocity.

In The Immortal Words ~ sort of ~ of Brother Orson Welles:

"Sam Adams: We Will Serve no Beer...Before Its Time!!"

Hmm!! How remarkable that you favor NewCastle, but not Sam Adams!!

Whenever I pick up a Roadie ~ that is: if I ever did, which, of course, being a respectable, law-abiding citizen, I most certainly do not ~ and I'm in a Beer mood ~ usually, it's Whiskey and Whatever for me ~ it's NewCastle I snag, because Sammy doesn't usually market Roadies, and NewCastle, as we all know...does.

...All'f which is to say: They're in the same Food Group.

Dark, Delicious, Hearty Lagers, dontchakno.

So I must confess that I'm mildly mystified...that you like the one, and not the other.

Purely a taste issue. Nothing against Sam Adams and I wish them every success, but I prefer Newcastle's flavour to that of Sam's. That's all.

Could be just me, but I find Oktoberfest much tastier than Winter Lager, which no matter how hard I try,
I cannot pound down like I can the Oktoberfests, or Sam Regulars, or Sam Lights...

you're one of the best posters on this board, way better than me. Please keep bringing quality analysis and enthusiasm to the board! That is a RARE combination (no offense to some of our long standing posters whom I also respect!)
