Even though "kommt" is in the present tense, it refers to an arrival in the near future, just as "comes" does in English.
Very important that pat fans can conjugate To Come in German.

Vollmer kommt = he comes, he is coming
Vollmer kommt bald = he's coming soon
Vollmer ist gekommen = he has come
Vollmer wird kommen = he will come

So, to answer my question you think that there isn't any chance of Fells being the one out then.

I was Just curious.

So what is Schiancoe's guaranteed salary?

Reportedly $400K of a total $1.2M contract. Gotta wonder though as he's missed 14 camp practices. They obviously thought he was healthy when they signed him, unlike Fells whom they knew was working on an issue. Both needed time in the offense although Fells has experience in it with other QB's. It would be odd to have kept him out unless whatever ails him is minor and they sense he fits out of the gate. But then it might be odd to have kept Fells out this long (throughout installation) only to activate him shortly unless they believe he is 100%. Bill has seemed intent on having a 4th option heading into the season whether it worked out in camp or not. Meanwhile the FB thing doesn't seem to have worked out at all.

Thank you, Mo. I am assuming that you see a fit for both of them then. If that is the case, I couldn't see us keeping the FB with 4 TE's.

Amid all the excitement about the return of der gnädige Herr Vollmer, we've missed that we'll also be getting a Liberian Brummie (via Silver Springs, Baltimore, New York, and Minnesota).

Visanthe Shiancoe sounds a great guy and, though it looks as though it will be tough for him to make the roster, I'm strongly rooting for him. (#kissofdeath)

Beautiful! I can't quite read the number on the shirt, but I assume it's in the secondary. I'm sure s/he has pace and very smooth hips, but I worry a little about the back-pedal ...

There's that new half-season IR slot to help address pre-season injuries. Not sure if a guy from outside the system who doesn't get a training camp in is a strong candidate for that, but it will be an interesting decision. Fanene is in a similar position. Hopefully, we'll have the luxury of taking somebody who is already dinged-up, instead of having a tough choice to make, after the upcoming 3 games in 10 days silliness.

Thanks to the NFLPA there is no such slot to help address pre season injuries... The owners approved it but it's one of those areas where the union/players have to agree and sign off and they refused. Apparently the union wanted something in exchange for doing something that made such sense and the league wasn't offering any inducements.

Interesting question about what to do with the "other" 2 TE's (Sorry Tyler Urban). I can see them keep all 4, but if they do I doubt the Pats will keep a true FB, letting a TE line up there when necessary.

Another possible solution is to PUP Shancoe until mid season. By then the roster situation will have sorted itself out a bit and a lot of questions we have now will have been answered, so by week six we can bring back Shancoe and have a much better idea of who the right person is to release

....OR we can kick his sorry injured ass out the door.
Shiancoe isn't eligible for the PUP since he's practiced. Fells would be unless they actually activate him off the PUP.

I expect the Patriots to carry Solder, Vollmer, and Cannon as the offensive tackles. Fells should make the team over Visanthe Shiancoe.
