So now I see...it isn't the fact that he is aging quickly and is no longer a top player....it isn't the fact that he could rarely find seperation with his defender,it isn't the fact that he couldn't run the right routes....

Ladies and gentlemen...the REAL reason why Chad was a failure was because the Patriots asked him to tone down his clown act for the season and not cause a media craze.

What a joke!

Did he come out and directly blame the Pats?...no,but if you can't read between the lines.....

This may be his honest assessment of the situation. He probably didn't fit in, and for someone like him that may have impact his performance.

It didn't impact his acceptance of 6 Million dollars.

I think most everyone gets it's not vindictive. But they also get something Chad doesn't. What worked for him never worked for the teams he played on. Neither it nor he helped them win. Chad can't be a cog in a wheel. And in a team game that's what you have to be to win.

He's been training harder than ever this offseason so he may have regained half a step in the short term. But he better be careful what he asks for as Oprah could well end up QBing that team. Don't give Ross any ideas... Because then you'll have no one to blame but yourself, only that will never happen.

Of course money changes everything, but it doesn't change his opinion on things. I think peeps get so caught up in the "Patriots Way" of talking to the media. In Chad's case I just think he didn't fit into the NE ways or communication especially since he's a outgoing person.

Chad didn't fit it here in so many ways. His style-of-play and personality were the opposite of what the Pats look for. Shame on the Pats FO on this one; they wanted him and paid him $6M. Terrible evaluation of a player who has already been in the league for many years and who doesn't carry many question marks about what makes him tick.

He negotiated to stay this year. If it was so bad, why not refuse and get cut?
