I see him as a nice Stephen hill-buster with his press ability. Press Hill at the line, throw him off the route he's barely learned and let the safety take over.
Considering Hill has never ran a route other than the go route, Hill might knock himself off his route more than any CB.

Woot, I come home to Dennard being drafted. I've complained how drafting a 2nd round CB to be #4/5 would be a waste, but now we get a 1st-2nd round talent in the 7th be our #4/#5. We are very deep at CB and Dennard will be the nickelback if Arrington leaves next year, I love it.
Even if we have 2 CBs injured at any point during the season, instead of having bums like Wilhite, Molden, Adams out there, we will still have 3 good CBs.
Can everyone pretend we got Dennard in the 2nd, and Wilson in the 7th, and stop complaining? Thanks!
Thinking the same. "In the second round, The Patriots select CB Al Dennard". Everyone says o.k. Dennard was said at one point to be a late first. He runs in the low 4.5's so he has enough speed. They say he knocks people off routes. Cool a DB who does not need binoculars to see the WR he is covering.
"In the seventh round the Patriots select some guy who plays not a particular position, some Tavon dude".

Well I'm guessing NFL coaching might help him along there. How hard can it be. "Stephen, run five yards downfield, when you've done that, you see that white line down the side of the field, turn and run towards it".
Oh dear god, 5'10? He is going to get abused by the 6'4 Stephen Hill
yes because every top CB in the league is 6'4, 220 pounds...

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "
Since when is Stephen Hill so almighty and scary? And who says the Pats are going to line up Dennard on Hill?
I agree. Hill comes from a triple option offense. He has a lot to learn about a Pro style offense. I wonder if he can take on the double team which he rarely saw in a triple option offense. He has questions about his hands and he didn't catch the ball all that much in college.
Until Hill can show he can adapt to the pros and run routes, I am not worried about him. He is a boom or bust prospect.

Can he read the defense for hot reads and adjustments? Can he make cuts? Does he run precise routes (granted him being out of position could help an inaccurate passer like Sanchez hit his target)?
This isn't street ball. It isn't run to the fire hydrant and turn in.

As if BB planned it that way?
C'mon folks, he slipped on cow crap and landed in a rose garden on that one.
All's well that ends well, but it wasn't premeditated.
