The Patriots really really need this type of CB. Not only is a slot CB a huge need but they need some attitude and chippiness from their defensive backfield.

So Fonzie please do not screw up; you could be part of a dominating new defense for the Patriots.

In my opinion, I think this Dennard pick salvaged this draft from a DB perspective. Nothing personal against Wilson, but I don't see him has 2nd round talent.

A liverpoool fan taking the high moral ground.

Isn't it still a bit soon for that since "Suarezgate".

Money and connections can ease the pain for almost anything in the legal system.

Kraft will have him out doing charity work before this thing gets to trial.

No, thats the point.

He has an attitude like Rodney Harrison. Im not comparing Dennard to him, but he it seems that Dennard doesnt take any crap from anyone. I can envison Dennard starting a skirmish in training camp like Harrison did when he arrived.

Im glad, the NE DBs have been like puxxies lately.

Even if we have 2 CBs injured at any point during the season, instead of having bums like Wilhite, Molden, Adams out there, we will still have 3 good CBs.
Hopefully.

Thats what Ive been saying. The NE secondary is the most injured area on the team and you better have a stable of GOOD capable DBs.

I am not enamored with the selection of the Dennard pick. He is worth a punt in the 7th round but I don't believe he should have been considered a 1st or 2nd round pick personally. I just question his ability to turn.

However there is some cause for optimism.

In the Bowl game he got in Alshon Jeffrey's face and mad it difficult for him. I do like his feistiness and willingness to challenge the WR.

I was concerned at his performance in the Senior Bowl practices. But he could not really show his strengths because he was asked to align in off coverage by the Vikings coaches in cover 2, so it failed to showcase his talents. He is a press corner and very physical at the line which is his main selling point. He can't really turn and run. The caveat here is that he left the Senior bowl with a hip injury which could explain why he struggled in that regard.

I think the Patriots need a guy with a little nasty in the backfield and he fits the bill. Lets hope (as with all the draftees) they contribute positively to the Patriots in the near future.
