Rex Ryan responds to Carlos Rogers' criticism by insisting 'there's no quit' in the Jets defense | New York Daily News

I can see Rex after the game now:

"Now, let's get a God-damn nap!"
If the Jets are that tired at the end of a game in week four then imagine the last quarter of the season.

Of course they were tired, the offense sucked so bad they gassed the D which probably got fed up and quit. Another gem from Rex...

Clyde Gates is 26 years old and was mired far enough down in the pathetic Dolphins receiving corps that he's got 3 catches in 2 seasons.

Stephen Hill is out with an injury, but could be put back as the WR1/WR2 upon his return without any real issue.

Where are these kids that are going to be developed?
If your season is lost its better to find out what a 27 year old can do than put on a guy on the field for his farewell tour.
I'm not sure what purpose you would expect Burress to serve. Do you think they can contend, or he would be back next year. Guess I am confused by what you are trying to say here.

What a bunch of crap this rating is. I nearly stopped reading after they included Santonio Holmes in a category that they describe as:

Quote:
An excellent NFL player who would either start for every team in the league, or would have any team in the league loving to get him (example: Quinton Coples falls into this category because of his potential, recent draft position, and big upside).
I guarantee you that at least 25 teams wouldn't touch Holmes for the veteran minimum when healthy. Plus including rookies and second year players who have done little (Wilkerson ) or nothing (Coples) is laughable. And yet again, Jets fans and media are still overrating Ferguson.

I did stop reading when they included LaRon Landry in a category that is described as:

Quote:
A solid NFL starter that just about any team in the NFL would like to have, or a player with a lot of value.
Landry had so much value that the Pats took Stephen Gregory over him and Belichick couldn't be bothered to meet with Landry when he came to Foxboro. And the Jets gave him a modest one year deal because no one wanted to give him a good long term deal.

You know, it's really easy for anyone to just waltz in here and say "**** the Rats!"

So NO excuses, keep it coming!

Woody Johnson has reason to be concerned that an utter disaster on the field will hurt his PSLs. There's a huge multi-page thread on Jets Insider discussing the financial and legal ramifications of walking away from your PSL payments. That could snowball into utter financial disaster if the Jets remain as pathetic for the next 4 games...which they will.

Here is a thread with Rat fans lamenting no longer having Parcells, but then realizing all the negatives that he brought.

After reading this you can't blame Rat fans for wondering if some days, it's even worth getting out of bed and tampering with other franchises.

Great thread Gr8est! Here we have a team that is tied for 1st in the AFC East with the Patriots and undefeated in the division, and the fans are in complete panic.

My favorite post is the one where the guy suggests the Jets hire Bill Cowher as both Head Coach and GM (not a terrible idea) and two sentences later the same poster suggests bringing Eric Rat Snitch Ingrate Mangini back.

Mangini? Really?

Jets fans are desperate after week 4 and there'e tons of football yet to be played. You know, they really are morons down there.

It's funny. I think Santonio Holmes going on the IR is addition by subtraction. He is such a divisive force in the locker room and with the media, that his absence gives Kerly, Schillens, Gates and Hill the chance to blossom.

The Jets know they can beat the Dolphins and the Bills - they already have, and they have such daunting opponents as the Colts, the Rams, the Jaguars, the schizo Eagles who will be without Vick by then, etc. I can see the Jets, as lame as they are, going 9-7 if they catch a break or two and find a way to deploy their genie in a bottle, Tim Tebow.

It's too early for the total freakout down there. I do hope they keep it up. It's fun to follow.

I can also seem them going 5-11.

Heh, you were meant to take it with humor. The higher ratings are obviously a joke as they are far too generous. What makes it funny though that is that this list was supposedly written in a pessimistic tone by a jets fan.

Aside from Mangold and Revis that team doesn't have anything. And Rex said that this is potentially the most talented team he has coached. Talk about not having the pulse of the team.
