True. The concern would be more like Corey Dillon pouting about sharing carries w/ Maroney.

If Lloyd comes to the Patriots, expect ongoing public praise for him out of proportion to his on-field production (unless that production turns out to be awesomely high after all).

Is there really any need to make something up to besmirch Corey Dillon?

No.

Is there any need to imply that I did that?

Maybe I misunderstood. Did you not say Dillon pouted about sharing carries with Maroney?

I think you did misunderstand. I think he was trying to draw an analogy. Lloyd pouting for catches would be analagous to say, if Corey Dillon pouted for carries.

I love what Dillon did for the Patriots offense...very key contributor

I tried to find some kind of common ground with the man..something about him I could like as a person...but I struck out...anyway, the Pats didn't pay him to run a Dale Carnegie Seminar...they paid him to run the rock with authority...he did that.

Now there is word out of St. Louis that the Rams aren't interested in Lloyd because he isn't a YAC guy.

Quote:
No matter what happens, if the Rams stay at No. 6 and don't take a wide receiver, it will put a lot of pressure on the organization to fill a position where they really need two starters. It could come in free agency, but don't expect the Rams to make a huge push for Brandon Lloyd. Lloyd has been openly lobbying for a spot in New England. In addition, the view at Rams Park is that even though Lloyd has talent, he gets next to no yards after the catch.

Boy Tom Condon is really not earning his money for Lloyd. By Tuesday at 4PM comes around, Lloyd is going to have to pay the Pats to take him at this point with his value going down and down.

Personally, I am ecstatic. The Pats might get him at a bargain well lower than anyone expects and the Pats might even have more money to add another starting quality WR. Right now the Pats have three receiver capable of getting over 1,000 yards (Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez).

As Bedard points out, Llloyd for some reason is a different guy under McDaniels. McDaniels gets him to be a team player and keep his head on straight. All this talk of being a bad apple is irrelevant if true. It just keeps a lot of teams from taking a chance on him which means the Pats will be able to get him at a bargain.

There was a lot of people saying that Dillon was a pain in the arse and complained a lot his last few years here. Nothing concrete, but he was definitely surely with the media.

Just want to point out that

A: I like the idea of Lloyd coming here. After V-Jax he is my favorite option and something tells me we ain't getting V-Jax.

B: Bi-Polar isn't being happy one day and grumpy the next. That is commonly referred to as 'moody'.

Lloyd is exactly the type of bigger, more physical WR the Pats have been needing for awhile now. You don't need to be a need to be a track star to be a serious downfield threat--Lloyd's physicality, hands, and receiving skills will take care of that. Need to find a way to sign this guy pronto and say adios to 85 and possibly Branch as well.
