My flag football team could hold serious talks about Favre but he already refused to talk to them, or his agent basically said, "Brett refuses to play here." So until Favre gives the Jets the OK they're not going to trade for him.

good. I hope they get him. He'll get outshined by Brady and his legacy will devolve while Brady's goes up even further. The Jets will massively overpay for him right as they look like they have some signs of life and totally mortgage their future on a guy who is only considered good because of his past and his length in the league. I honestly don't think he's that much better than Chad at this point.

That's insane, sorry. He might throw too many interceptions, he might not be as good as he was. But come on. Last year the guy threw for 4100 yards and 28 TDs.

I bet this is a phony rumor floated out there by the Packers to drum up interest. If I were to guess the outcome at this point, I bet he takes the $20m for 10 yrs deal and really retires.

Im sorry but this is pure comedy. Pennington is the easiest QB in the NFL to gameplan around and all you need it decent defensive players. Bretts year last year obliterates anything CP has ever done. Brett is a top 10 QB right now, Pennington is a bottom ten QB right now

Before last year Favre was throwing as many INTs as TDs in a terrible division. I admit I exaggerated but Favre doesn't scare me at all especially considering how much the Jets would have to give up to have him on their team.

You're being unfair to Favre. He had 2 down years after his offensive line was gutted, his receiving corp was rebuilt and his running backs turned into Samkon Gado. The year prior to this happening, Favre threw for 30 Tds and had 17 picks. Brady went for 28 and 14 that same year. Favre's 3 years prior were 32 and 21, 27 and 16, and 32 and 15.

Since 2002 Favre has followed up every good year with a bad one, couple that with having to learn a new offense and I think it could be a problem for his new team. Favre has never been a real "student" of the game and at this stage of his career he likely won't become one, that's why he really wants to go to the Vikings where he would have some familiarity with coaches and the offense. His new team could conceivably simplify their offense but the good teams in the NFL would figure that out, especially if they had to play his new team a 2nd time. Favre would be a definite upgrade over anyone the Jets have at QB now but it would take some time for him to get comfortable.
