Default VEGAS: Giants won Patriots Bowl. Patriots Super Bowl XLVII Champions. Sorry Giants.

Warning: Fan flavored logic, smilies, Patriots love, and trash talking with a bit of snobbish elitism mixed in ahead. If you are Giants fan or a masochistic, self-loathing Patriots fan who feels we should all be stabbing ourselves in the eye with forks because we lost the Super Bowl, this write up may piss you off. You are more then welcome to skip this thread and participate in any of the misery, self punishment, and team ripping threads being discussed. You have been warned. For the rest that still believe in this team....

Those stubborn oddsmakers. They agree. Giants suck. Playoff format sucks. Super Bowl meaningless. In determining the best team in the NFL that is.

Ok not quite. Of course the Super Bowl is not meaningless. It does mean something, a whole lot, and it's what every team signs up for. The Giants don't really suck, but they haven't convinced Vegas they're the dominant team in the NFC and will get back here in 2013. But if the Super Bowl really does determine the best team in the NFL, as some want to convince people with better common sense, why the hell do we keep getting picked as the ones to win it all every year? Especially after we just got our ass kicked. Shouldn't it be the Champs 2 days after they just won it? They didn't even earn enough respect for 2 days? Even Vegas agree we should stop playing these guys. All they do is ruin our image for a day or two and piss off Gisele

Despite the Giants beating the Patriots 3 times, including their wins in 2 Super Bowls, and twice this past season, despite people losing a bunch of money betting on the Patriots again, and getting burnt again...Vegas just refuses to agree with the ESPN "experts". Apparently they believe the Patriots are not "slipping" and neither is Brady and once again favored to win it all and be the Champions of Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

They also picked us last year. We didn't win it. They got that part wrong. But we did make it there. And hey, who in the hell could have possibly imagined the Gronkanator could be slowed down by completely twisting his ankle? I mean it's not like he was chopped to bits, right?

I gotta say, I agree and as a fan, I'm honored by this. This says a lot about us! And a lot about a lot of other things and a lot of other teams. It certainly seems like Vegas are not fooled by the hype, a single football game, the playoffs, nor the "difficulty" of winning the Super Bowl. In reality, because of how ridiculous media week is these days, and what is asked of the players, there's a good chance teams play worse in the Super Bowl than during the rest of the season. Sad but true. I know we want to believe that the Super Bowl is this grueling match of excellence but honestly, both teams played better in other games earlier this season as well as the playoffs. The work required to get to the playoffs and make a Super Bowl is far more testing than winning one which is more like a coronation of the survivor, rather than a test of the best. And nobody's made the long journey more convincing than us this past year. Of course it helps when you have an easier road, and right now it still looks that way for us once again.

As long as the single elimination playoffs system treats us nice again next year, I don't see a reason why we don't make it real far again. While ESPN and the NFL are going to argue about whether Eli is elite and convince GB and the Saints the Giants were the best team in the NFC this year, there's little question about who was the best team in the AFC in 2011. And other than us, the healthiest and most dangerous AFC teams with the brightest future heading into 2012 are the Houston Texans, Bengals and....Denver Broncos? Ravens and Steelers might need some rebuilding come this year. Houston's damn dangerous because they can win with any freaking quarterback but the rest of the 2011 favorites have a lot of issues.

As for the Champs? Here's the Giants outlook in 2012:

SF 49ers
Saints
Green Bay
Atlanta
Ravens
Pittsburgh
Carolina(yeah maybe they're not all that scary, but it's my home team and we're 4-3 against them with a 2nd year Cam Newton who won't be afraid of JPP)

There's at least 4 playoffs teams salivating to get some revenge there. Not to mention they have to deal with Washington who swept them this year, Cowboys and Eagles who all really freaking hate their guts.

Congratulations Giants on taking advantage of the opportunities that came your way. Now you just have to figure out how to create them and become the best team in your conference, but if all you're going to manage is 9-7 next year, I wouldn't bet on making it out of there as one of the top 2 seeds. In addition, considering Tom Coughlin just managed to earn himself a contract extension, and is officially off the hot seat, I could see the Giants disappearing once again for 3 years or so and not even make the playoffs just like they did after 2008. They made the playoffs once and were one and done.

I can already hear Giants fans: "Not fair, you guys get an easier road".

Not our problem and you weren't complaining when you got through the playoffs this year without having to face the Saints. You weren't exactly caring. "Making the playoffs is what matters", remember? Cry about it all you want. We got the 2012 playoffs to make. Hope you make it

Make no mistakes Pats fans. The Dynasty is back. Heck, it never really went away. We did make the Super Bowl in 5 of 11 years. Might as well call it the Patriots Bowl. And even though we lost this one, I think the only thing that disappoints me is that we didn't get the chance to squeeze them all in one decade. The good news is if we count back to 2005, we have a good chance of being the first team to play in 6 in one decade by 2015. I say we shoot for 4 out of 4 Super Bowls, counting this one, make 2 more and this time, win them both.

As amazing as our team was this year, as amazing as it was to watch Brady drive down 96 yards and break Montana's pass completion record in his loss, not even the 07 offense will compare to this offense with Gronk, Hernandez, Welker and a quality, speedy vertical threat at wide receiver in 2012.

I do not buy for a second into the hype that Tom's slipping. He was about the sharpest I have seen him in his career this year, including the Super Bowl. He was also moving in and out of the pocket and doing things with his legs I rarely saw him do before. Tom's in his prime right now. We will find him somebody that can come down with some of those 50 yard bombs this coming year. Tom's pretty well taken care of by our O line. He's taken less of a beating than a lot of other guys and I expect him to play late in his years.

Now, are you going to get on board, or are you going to sit there moan and cry about how heart broken you are? I'm tired of wallowing in misery. So is Brady and the gang. We're not doing that anymore. 2013 playoffs bandwagon and road to the Super Bowl XLVII. Vegas put their money on us. Are you in or out?

Vegas mainly make most of their money off of commission, regardless of who wins. The favorites represents the majority of the betting public. They are actually barely over 50%, but that's still better than being the underdogs. What they're really saying is that the least amount of people would bet against the Patriots winning the Super Bowl next year compared to any other team.

Which means the majority of the people who put their money where their mouths are, still think we rock their world. Besides, considering the Patriots' track record, of making the Super Bowl 4 times in the past 8 years, 50%, it surpasses any Vegas odds anyway. And this thread isn't for party poopers.

In 10 full seasons TB's been to 5 SB's, if he gets to a 6th win or lose i'll start calling Brady's House. A place other teams come to visit and take a shot at the best coach, team and QB in NFL history.

Well, the giants are not even close to a dominate team
The pats are a great team with two 1s, two 2s and FA, also Hernandez and Gronk, who are not even close to peaking.

They should be the favorites to win it all.

The first sign of Vegas dropping the Pats out of favorism when it comes to Super Bowl odds is the division first and foremost.

Vegas does not see the Patriots giving up the East once again and frankly there is no reason other than injury to think the Pats can't win the East again unless Buffalo decides to play a full season or the Dolphins continue their uphill climb as they did at the end of the year.

As long as the Pats are expected to win the division,Vegas expects them to go on to the Conference Title.

Of course much easier said than done.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants have a below .500 next year.. every team will be gunning for the so-called "champs"...
