The guards, centers, and nose tackles are fat? That is just stunning. Next thing you know you'll notice that every other NFL team has the same "problem."

Maybe the NFL should introduce training staff and terms like "making weight", oh wait a minute.

Big Vince is considered one of the best athletes on this team.. and despite his weight can get over the rim.

To assume that players weight had anything to do with this loss, only demonstrates your lack of knowledge about this game..

Steve from Fall River?????

Brady should lose some weight too. Skinny Brady was more clutch

While we're at it i think Wes Welker should consider growing about 8 inches in the offseason. Pretty sure he would've made the catch with that extra height.

Yeah the Joan Rivers comment was over the top; I apologize for that (I won't be asking for Vince's signature anytime soon). But I still think that there is a real issue with weight for some of the guys. As far as being ripped Andre Carter was ripped and it did not harm him. As far as padding they can wear flack jackets. There may be some validity to having a large mass on the line that cannot be moved especially at the nose but I wonder if our guys went too far.

It's the Red Sox who need to lose some weight over the course of the season, not big football players.

IDK ....VanDrake is right up there also.

It is not healthy to be so fat.

Quick, spot the DL who ended up on the IR:

Mark Anderson
Ron Brace
Andre Carter
Brandon Deaderick
Shaun Ellis
Kyle Love
Alex Silvestro
Gerard Warren
Vince Wilfork

Greetings,
A 4-3 Defensive End and a tackle (even more so for 3-4 NT's) have different responsibilities and therefore requires different body types. Mark Anderson is a 4-3 Defensive End as well and he looks dramatically different from the tackles also. Those guys are really large but are very athletic, especially when you consider the size they have to carry around. This is just how BB wants them to be, even in a 4-3 he loves those large tackles as well. Personally I would like to see some more speed at tackle, mainly for situational purposes not necessarily for most downs though.

The Red Sox were burned by Friend Chicken Gate but I think it is safe to say that the Patriots linemen consumed a lot more fried chicken.

There are a lot of portly linemen in the NFL but the Patriots seems to have more than most. Did you see those shots of the bench on Sunday? It looked someone had been harpooning whales.

I cannot believe that Vince and Logan would not benefit by dropping 40-50 pounds each. Actually 40 pounds would barely make a dent but they would have more endurance and agility. Maybe more like 60 pounds.... I'll bet Vince is on the far side of 400 and Logan is 370.

How do these guys pass the conditioning test? Do they bait the finish line with cheeseburgers?
