Default Opening Safety nets a Vegas Sportsbook bettor $15,000 for $200 Wager

Just think a small $200 could have got you $15K for a bet that a safety is the first points of the game.

One of the Vegas Sportsbooks reported and confirmed the wager

I bet Vegas paid a lot more out on that safety, albeit probably much smaller amounts.

Sweet. I was wondering what the payout on that would have been.

I can't believe someone would actually bet on that in the first place.

Even if people did win good odds on the Safety bet, Vegas still made a killing on the TD and FG bets to start the game. That is where most of the people would be betting big money and they all lost. In the end it is set up for the house to win overall no matter how the game goes.

...and to think the bettor must've been sweating bullets waiting for the refs to throw the flag

I lost 150 on the Pats today. Thought about putting up another 50 right before kickoff. Glad I didn't!

I would never bet on my favorite team. I'd bet against them. That way, it's win-win no matter what!

Yeah I did think about that also. The only problem with that is if the Pats win then I am pissed I lost picking against my team. In this case though it would have been the better choice.

I lost $250 when the nits went for 2 with 57 seconds left All I needed was them taking the extra point and I win the first Superbowl square of my life.
