Of all the players from the 2007 Patriots roster that have left to other teams,Who has the best chance to succeed and who is most likely to fail?

This question is not so much in relation to the team he is on, but to his own talent.

I think Eugene Wilson will have the most success of all the defections of the 2007 former players and I think he may revert back to his old form in his first two years in the league now down in Tampa Bay and I think Randall Gay may struggle in his duty in the Bayou -

Asante will not be as good as he was here so I think its in the middle between having a good and bad season for him.

I say Donte Stalworth spends alot of time on the injured list as his history shows with a lucky break last year when he remained near injury free

I think Colvin will fare the best of the departed lot, but his solid play will be eclipsed by the fact that his new team is the Texans, and therefore, will go mostly unnoticed to the rest of the league outside of Houston.

And though I think Asante will put up a decent season, with the size of his contract comes high expectations that I'm not sure he's capable of fulfilling. Though solid and above average, I think the Iggles fans will run out patience quickly and begin grumbling toward the end of his first season.

I agree with Colvin. I think he will have the best numbers of the dearly departed. He is in a situaiton where he doesn't have to be the focal point of the defense and if he lines up on the field with Mario Williams, that will be two tough edge rushers to stop.

As for "failing," I think Stallworth's early injury makes him the favorite here. If he can heal quickly, all bets are off.

I think Assante played well in this D and the D played to his strengths, not a lot of confidence that this will continue in Philly.. he will go down as a bust in the long run.

As far as Colvin goes, his success will be predicated by his ability to stay injury free.

I'm not sure how you can say any of them but maybe Asante were defections. The Pats CHOSE to let Stallworth go. They CHOSE not to resign GAY and WILSON. And the Pats CHOSE to let Rosey Colvin go.

I think that Asante will be the biggest flop and the Eagles fans will be screaming for someone's head. Signing Asante already has several of their key players disgruntled. Brown, Sheppard and Westbrook aren't happy. And it got worse after Samuel was signed.

I think that Wilson will be the 2nd best behind Colvin if he doesn't get over his fear of hitting. If Wilson starts to hit people again, then I think he'll be everything that the Bucs look for in a Tampa 2 Corner, but more physical.

You know this use to be a quality board. Unfortunately tools like "DaBruinz" have have totally destroyed it. Everyone knows what the poster meant, "former players" I'm glad you are on top of your game and picked out the word defection and blasted the guy for it!

With all due respect, I'm not sure replies like this help matters. Question his posting style or his "voice," but the guy brings much to the table with informed opinions.

Samuel is the best player that left, a young probowl player who has improved every year. I think he will do the best.

Wilson needed a fresh slate, he was running on empty. Colvin is always very productive at rushing the passer, the Patriots missed his pass rush down the stretch.
