Nah, I think they'd see it coming or at least have their front guys paying attention. I wouldn't mind a fake punt again, though.

Matter of fact, as long as we don't have any kickoffs go out of bounds and don't allow a 10 minute opening drive, I think I will be content with the outcome.

This x 1000.

Get our defense out there while they're all spun up, get a quick 3 and out to set the tone for the rest of the game.

Nothing like letting your opponent know that you are scared enough to resort to desperation plays before one down is played.

I say we sack up, and beat them the old fashion way.

I'd say let's get 3 and outs on the first 3 possessions but we saw how then went last week...but of course, im sure if we do that again, we'll score at least ten point before they start taking form.

Key to this game is give them three and get us seven. Plain and simple. Punters be damned.

I don't think they should onsides kick but I like the idea. I think the Pats have to be aggressive and go-for-it on 4th down more often than in other games. It's ok to settle for FGs against Balt (or at least I thought it was) but not against the Giants. While they aren't juggernaunts, I would rather put the game in Tom Brady's hands instead of hoping/praying the secondary can come up big.

If your argument is that it would succeed because the Pats would catch them off guard, think again. Tom Coughlin strikes me as the kind of HC who runs through dealing with a surprise onside kick every week in practice, with the penalty for failure to recover being a bunch of laps around the track for his receivers.

So, it would be odds on to give Eli a short field. Bad idea.

To pick up on a theme others have raised in this thread, I'd put it that aggressive play doesn't have to be dumb play. An onside kick at the outset against a team that no doubt practices being "surprised" every week is dumb.
