I was thinking because it's in Indy that most people would be cheering for the Giants, then I did some research, what I found was that only 5% of the Tickets go to the host team. Not sure if this is accurate, does anyone know how tickets are distibuted?
This is what I found...
Super Bowl tickets aren't easy to purchase, and if you want to go to the big game, it is important to know how the tickets are distributed in the first place. Every year, tickets go to teams, charities, NFL affiliates, VIPs, corporate sponsors and networks before being offered to the general public. Participating Team Tickets
About 75 percent of the Super Bowl ticket allotment goes to all NFL teams, which they can distribute to fans as they see fit. The two participating teams receive the biggest percentage, each getting 17.5 percent of the tickets available. Non-Participating Team Tickets
The host team (the Miami Dolphins in 2010) receives 5 percent of available tickets while the remaining 29 teams not participating in the Super Bowl each receive 1.2 percent. NFL Tickets
The NFL controls 25 percent of the tickets, which they sell to television networks, affiliates, charities, VIPs (like celebrities and past Super Bowl stars) and the media. Public Tickets
The NFL offers about 1 percent to the general public. These are distributed via a random drawing, and no tickets are sold by the NFL to ticket agencies. Volunteer Tickets
Every year, the Super Bowl needs volunteers to help with logistics, security, hospitality, transportation and odd jobs. Volunteers get a free ticket to the game but, depending on their role, they may or may not actually get to see any of the action. Source:

Re: Will SB 46 be like a home game for the Giants?
No, unless many more Giants fans than Patriots buy tickets. I think the overwhelming fact is that unless it's your team in the game, you aren't going to spend the money you need to in order to attend. Superbowl audiences are weird. Many people there are corporate types who are there for the "atmosphere" rather than to watch the game. I have attended the Pats last 4 Superbowls. In 2001 I sat in the next to last row in the Superdome beside a guy who bought his ticket outside (for 1/2 face value, no less) and was a Cowboys fan. Just wanted to go to the Superbowl. In Houston (vs. Panthers) there were 4 very pretty girls next to us (models maybe?) who giggled through the first half, left at half time and never came back. In Jacksonville the 4 people beside us were the deputy mayor or something & guests from Jacksonville, who stated openly that they were leaving as soon as Paul McCartney was done. Only in AZ were all the people around me true fans of one team or the other, and I remember that crowd being about 50/50 (Pats/Giants).
Re: Will SB 46 be like a home game for the Giants?
I think the general feeling outside of the fanbase is that most people will be rooting for the Giants, so while I don't think it'll be a home game for them, I do think they will have more fans there rooting for them.
I think that's a fair guess. A lot of fans tend to dislike the Pats, and the Giants are playing the 'underdog' role again this yr. That generally bodes well for rooting interests.

Re: Will SB 46 be like a home game for the Giants?
Okay - here is the deal. I am one of the luck few to actually have 2 tickets to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, my team is not in it so I am not going to make the trip to Indy to see it. I will however, allow the person or persons who BEST answer the following question the opportunity to purchase the tickets at MY COST. I am not in this to make money and lets say my cost was VERY reasonable.
Question:
In your best words, How would you describe the reason or reasons the the STEELERS are a better team (Historically) than the Patriots.
BONUS - if you tell me how bad the Ravens SUCK.
This is not a joke - just looking for Patriot fans who have a open mind on the Steelers as a team. Past, Present and Future.

Yup, it's a very weird vibe. Crowd noise is never a factor, although there's plenty of cheering whenever a team scores.
